Had a minor obsession with State of Independance as a kid, helped me break out of my 'rock' mindset.

I'm saddened beyond belief. Donna, you just don't know how you changed my life when I heard I Feel Love on a good stereo the first time (Although quite a bit of that was due to Mr. Moroder). But it was your voice that was the soundtrack to my growing up, and the whole world is richer for it. Amy, Whitney, now you. That's one hell of a heavenly choir.
Now I'm going to go listen to Once Upon A Time,,,

I Feel Love wrecks every dancefloor it touches. Great memories of it being dropped in the middle of a krautrock set at Kosmische Club and setting the place on fire.

Her stuff was really good, would be more impressive if she played an instrument while singing, I have no idea who played the music there, could be a band of hire-me-do's.

Wow! RIP! My heart goes out to her loved ones! There have been SO many talented people who have passed on in the last ten years that I've been here. Donna Summer is another one of those talents.

I remember it used to get played at the indie nights at a club I used to go to in the early 80s. Definitely cross-genre appeal.cron wrote:I Feel Love wrecks every dancefloor it touches. My faves that are lesser known:
This has a great Moog bass and those disco strings. I really want to remix this:

With 'I Feel Love' Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer introduced us to the 80's three years early, made disco crossover into the mainstream in a cool way, funked up electronica and got rock fans to like dance music.
All good things in my book.
Not bad for one record.
She was also the only artist totally associated with dance music from that era, that had many hits over a long period of time. No mean achievement.
Very sad that she has gone at a relatively young age.
RIP Donna and thank you for some great music.
