CPU usage on my i7 in Cubase 6 is not higher than 2%, at least with the tests I did.kelvyn wrote:The CPU usage is fine as far as I'm concerned. I'm using it all over the place and for the price it's a no brainer for sure.LAGinz wrote:I'm very interested in this, but some have suggested it uses more CPU than some others. Can anyone help me get a better handle on this ?
Still is a no brainer, so I'd jump on it for the time being. Those that have a license, should log into their accounts and grab the update. I got no update mail last time either, then again Tony is a busy bee so that can happen.
INFO FOR CUBASE USERS:
DC8A does not show up in a seperate subfolder in VST3 form! It is listed among "Dynamics". If you installed both the VST3 and VST2 version, the VST2 version is in the folder where you installed it to.
INFO FOR WAVELAB USERS:
You can find DC8A in the VST3 subfolder. If you put it into a subfolder (firmname for example), it does not show up. I think this is part of a VST3 limitation.

Thanks so much for VST3 update Tony! So happy to have an alternative to the stock compressor for quick side-chaining duties in Cubase.
And the expert mode is great. So many options but the intuitive layout makes it really easy to control.
I

tonhelm wrote:Hi all,
I've just updated DC8C.
Changes:
NEW: VST3 support (OSX/WIN 32&64bit)
NEW: External sidechaining in EASY mode
REMOVED: zero latency switch - DC8C is now always zero latency
FIX: MIX knob in easy mode is working now as expected
FIX: (OSX) flickering of the value displays, when moving a control

Great plugin! I just bought it a few hours ago. Rarely does a plugin cause me to reach for my wallet anymore but after trying the small version DC1A i wanted the big version DC8C and felt safe taking the gamble with DC8C. The soundquality/price/flexibility ratio is 'off the charts' for this plugin, unlike any i've ever seen, and it does not have copy-protection that is a hassle. Great product, sounds like alot of hard work went into it, good luck with it! Hope it's a success for you! Another one on the band-wagon!

T2 Icarus is a must. SonicCore SCOPE is the most. As heart of studio it has my vote, cause XITE-1 is all she wrote.

Ha ha, so the bottom line is:ttoz wrote:funny isn't it. I didn't like the smaller brother at all but now after finally using the big one i think it's great
if you like DC1A, buy DC8C and you'll like it too.
If you don't like DC1A, you still have to buy DC8C, because you'll like it.

@evo2slo & sounddesigner:
thank you and thank you! It's so great to read, that DC8C gets appreciated that much.

However, one thing I really don't like about it is: my other compressors are gathering dust ever since buying DC8C. I can get the sound I want so quickly and painlessly, it's almost too good to be true.

Not feeling the love here on service end of things
I bought it yesterday, more than 24 hours ago, and have heard nothing from the company. No password-nothing. I even sent them an e-mail with my paypal receipt number. I've also checked my spam filters--and nothing. I have no idea how some of you have gotten yours within an hour, and I can't get anything.

I got a email very quickly after my purchase, it was in my spam folder. I don't know if you checked your spam folder yet but if not you may want to.LAGinz wrote:Not feeling the love here on service end of thingsI bought it yesterday, more than 24 hours ago, and have heard nothing from the company.
