I'm very happy. I got a great deal on a computer. It runs Win 7 64 bit, has 8 GB RAM and a 1 TB drive with an AMD quad core Vision 6 processor with DVI out and wireless. It's a beauty. I've found the answers to most questions online, except for this:
I have my Nexus license and Arturia AF licenses on an elicenser dongle. I know I have to download the 64 bit versions of these, and I know I need to download the new eL manager for Win 7, but as far as the dongle goes, do you just unplug it from the old computer and plug it into the new one?
Do I need another license for the 64 bit versions of the software?
I'd appreciate any help, because I'm not looking forward to the migration and having to reinstall new versions of EVERYTHING,,,

Only if your DAW is 64bit.

Correct, cause it contains the drivers for the dongle.

I highly recommend to install everything from scratch on your new machine, cause this guarantees flawless operation.

Yes. I'm planning (and hoping) I can find, and can install 64 bit versions of all my software. I did get FL Studio 64 bit. Haven't tried to install yet. Most devs are very generous and say you can use their plugins on more than one computer.

Did the install and even without the soundcard - on the ASIO4ALL, it runs beautifully. Now I need to figure out what comes with 64 bit installers. I know the Papen stuff has separate files. I think also Tone 2. The bas thing is most of my passwords are on the old computer and looks like I'll be spending some time doing this. Thanks for the dongle help.

Yes. I highly suggest you go download the latest version. It gives you a choice of the 64 bit version. IL has also redesigned your User Account and I have to give it a big thumbs up for the new layout. Other nice things: One RegKey will authorize all your purchased IL plugins. I loved that.

I can find no mention of it.

Yes the new layout looks good.
But everytime I click to the Forum page from the Account page I end up logged out on both. (edit: That was just on the work computer. Working well at home. Im grabbing the latest v. now.

)

I don't see x 64 bit anywhere on the IL site. All I see is a bunch of 'public beta' files, mostly for Maxx's synths.

On the specs list they still say (misleadingly if you ask me) Win 7 32 and 64, but this is not the same as native.

I hope I'm wrong, and look forward to a link for the new 64 bit FLS.

Well then maybe I'm confused, but it now host both 32 and 64 bit plugins and I've reinstalled all my Papen and Tone2 stuff as 64 bit and they work flawlessly for several days now. Even the 64 bit version of Albino, which was very tempermental about being authorized.

This is not the same as FLS being 64 bit. Someone with more technical knowledge than I can correct me, but my understanding is that FLS can HOST 64 bit plugs with its own version of a bridge. By all accounts, this works very well, and may appear seamless to the user.

However, many of us are waiting for the whole program and its derivative products, FX, Synths, etc, to become 64 bit so they may be used WITHOUT a bridge in 64 bit platforms.

Yeap, thats the 'built in' bridge you are experiencing I think.
Too bad its not the whole enchilada, but I guess its good to hear that the bridge works so transparently.

It really works great. The only bad thing on Win 7 is the Aero thing, because you can minimize it so easily. I did it once and thought FL had crashed. OOps, there it was still running on the taskbar. I need to run 32 and 64 bit pluggys together and see how it behaves. As far as CPU, it's been very good. I haven't broken 20 percent yet, and that was with Blade, BLUE, Predator, ElectraX and the Fruity Limiter all running in a song. I think, for what it is, it's very stable.

elicenser and a new 64 bit computer .... (first in probably a long line of stupid 64 bit questions.
