Hey, i am looking to create something similar in one of my tracks, its the way the filter opens and closes, i know it can be done within a synth itself but i am using 2 layers for mine with different VST's so it would sound a lot more nicer if they were done with the same plug in,

I have demo'd Soundtoys Filter freak - it sounded fantastic, just what i wanted - but then realised you cannot automate the LFO rate!!

I want a filter that will allow me to modulate the LFO rate to get this kind of feeling -

@ 2.09 it starts -

Any suggestions?

Thank you!!

Mike

Flavour of the month is FXpansion Etch.
It does sound rather good and you can automate or internally modulate LFO rate.

Sugar Bytes WOW and FabFilter Volcano 2 should be capable of that :)

No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Yeah i went through their manual it doesn't say anything about automation though, at least i couldn't find anything. Gutted as well because that sounded really nice!

Thanks for the suggestions will check them out now!

Hi Mike20

Doesn't automation depend more on which DAW you're using?

So set up to Write / Record automation, move the dial you want to move (filter cut off) whilst playing back the track and then display and access the automation and edit it if required?

If your DAW doesn't work like this (Cubase and Logic do btw), or Soundtoys products don't accept automation instructions, then apologies in advance for butting in.

All the best

in reaper you can set it up to pretty easy modulate any parameter in vst/vsti's so instead of a plugin to do it you could get reaper just for that purpose,,,

its kind of amazing and i dont know if there is other daws that can do it to that extent or that easy as in reaper...
