I'm actually selling my Sugar-Bytes Consequence license right now in the Market and think I may just buy Saurus once it is sold. Then maybe, just maybe, i won't be accused of being a Diva-worshiper  though I probably don't need another VA but what the hell.

Don't kill me, but I think some coffee just came outta my nose...from laughing too hard. Sorry to all concerned. I'll be serious now.

Examigan, are you any closer to a decision? My guess is "both". :hihi:

Now THAT would be a real surprise at the end. :o :)

BTW for cleaning up this thread a bit and to achieve peace on earth again i have removed several of my last posts here, no matter if my statements in those were correct IMO or not.

These 2 songs uses saurus and massive layered. And yes, i'm a fanboy right now, what's wrong with liking a synth so much?

Btw i'm not a good sound designer, so the sound is not that experimental and it's just a generic EDM music.

Hi,

really nice demos and the sounds are not so bad too. :)

It really wouldn't be surprising at all. I followed the Saurus contest thread with keen interest and with the intention of getting it until getting insulted for having any sort of dissatisfaction once it did show up  Later in that demo thread once again I was ready to consider buying it and got turned off by fanatical nonsense, was called a pirate by Marcus even, and despite all those misguided efforts at 'defending' Saurus I'm still willing to give it a shot. I guess in that sense it is surprising.

If I were to really give some critique in this thread about the UI, presets and such, I would get you guys pissing all over the place again, even though I may consider looking past them and getting it anyway. Basically you guys act like any criticism is unwarranted, and that is ridiculous. Everything can be improved upon and just because I happen to own Diva too doesn't mean I should hold my tongue about it, but I hold off to keep you guys from having aneurysms. You should thank me for that :P

Hi Braj,

i apologize if there were some misunderstandings between us. Like i already mentioned to Examigan it was never my intention to start another trouble in this thread.

Basically we seem to have the same idea that there are other great synths besides Diva which does not mean that Diva itself is bad except for a very high CPU use which is my only real complaint. As i could play some of the presets only in "Fast" quality the sound quality difference on my own system gets a bit smaller than for those who could use Divine mode all the time (which for most presets i could only use for monophonic sounds).

In the past i was a "fanboy" for Waldorf synths only (which i still am) but slowly at least two other companies like Tone2 and Xils Lab are added to this too (got 2 synths from Tone2 and 3 from Xils Lab now with almost all soundsets available). Not to forget the Kontakt synths of Synth Magic of course. Anyway this does not mean i am not using synths of other companies too.

I hope that's it about Diva now (besides in the Diva forum) and back to work with Saurus (doing preset demos) for me... :)

See, I just bought Xils 3 LE and it is a HUGE hog, I installed the PolyKB II CM too and again, HUGE HOG, they are both worse than Diva on their average patch, they are just as bad on their worst, but I don't care, the end result is justified and it is my own old computer that is to blame for being slow and won't be mentioning them again, I'm not putting them down, but you NEVER bring up their CPU use

I only say it to highlight that you have something personal against Diva, some competitiveness that comes through even when you are being diplomatic. You may not be an employee but you are affiliated, you mention that (sort of flaunt it) again and again, and at least in that regard you have a biased vested interest and you should be careful how you represent yourself in connection with those companies, especially how you mention their competition.

Diva (or any other synth) can be mentioned by me and anyone else in Instruments, not just the 'Diva forum' and again, you are not a cop that should be telling people what to post and where, that is for the mods to determine.

I don't know why it's always the same poster here. You don't need to defend any synth in this discussion but at least please contribute to the topic, all i'm seeing is only childish personal attack.

I'm gonna leave now and just read this thread for the lol. People have been making music way before diva arrived. :(

At my last post i was in good mood and wanted to calm down but here you go.

I got all 3 Xils synths including the full version of Xils 3 and i never said that the Xils synths are light on CPU as this would be wrong but for sure they are lighter than Diva. I am not able to max out my CPU with any preset which i got for Xils 3 but it is easily done with Diva in Divine and for some presets also in Great quality mode. The only real "safe" quality setting for me which works in all presets is the "Fast" quality, also with the latest v1.1 update. With earlier versions of v1.1 i had the problem that while the CPU use seemed to get down i still got several audio dropouts.
In Xils 3 there are no quality settings and you always use the highest available quality.
If we talk only about monophonic sounds there is no big trouble for both synths.

Exactly. I'll update my last two demos soon with the final version of my presets and with both no external FXs and with an EQ used.
