Is Dimension Pro worth buying for ~$37?

i like the dimensions Pad and dimension presets, especially the alien piano ones for melodic delay type textures played over a deep underlying groove. Really atmospheric. I treat dimension pro a bit like reasons factory sound bank, for quick access to a decent set of instruments when im trying to get ideas down and get a feel for the music Im composing. Good source of drum and percussion sounds too. Im currently thinking of buying all the digital sound factory bundles to further its content. 13 packs for what was originally £799 you can now get for £200-300. But then again you can but the seperate packs each for about £15 at the minute and theres a lot of stuff on sale all the time.

Yes, we are screwed between Dimension Pro and Diversion names as wellLeVzi wrote:At first I was going to say hell yeah, but I dunno tbh. I always mix up Discovery Pro and Dimension Pro , and I thought it was the former ! lol

That seems like an awful lot to download. DP looks like Rapture anyway, and I'd much rather just have the samples and load them into Rapture. I made some presets in Rapture using some of the Viral Outbreak sounds and they are amazing.
I say, smash Rapture and Dimension Pro together and call it Rapture 3D.
(And you can send me my free copy via email Cakewalk, if you use this idea)

I'm interested in purchasing Dimension Pro but a little confused with the pricing.
I already own Dimension LE. My question is, can I purchase PRO (£35) by going the upgrade route plus get another 30% on top or will it not count (£69) as I don't have Sonar or Project 5?

when you purchase i think there is an option that you click that says upgrade from le version and it costs £35. when i upgraded from rapture le it was how i got the upgrade there for £35. i think you can also apply promo codes as well to the total to get even more money off it

Yes, it does work. I got to the credit card details but didn't pull the trigger because I wasn't sure if I was elgible. Didn't want to purchase it for £24.50 only to find I can't use it because I don't have Sonar or Project 5. I already own LE and Zeta from Cakewalk though.mr president wrote:when you purchase i think there is an option that you click that says upgrade from le version and it costs £35. when i upgraded from rapture le it was how i got the upgrade there for £35. i think you can also apply promo codes as well to the total to get even more money off it
It was the last bit in brackets that worried me :
Upgrade Selection: Site Price
Dimension Pro for New Customers £69.00
Upgrade from Dimension LE (SONAR 7-X1, Home Studio 6XL-7XL, and Project 5) £35.00

Oh another silly question if no one minds...
Can you run both Dimension LE and PRO? I'm only asking because I am currently using LE and Garitan pocket orchestra in my latest track.

Dim Pro at that price is well worth the money. I just bought it and it's got some great presets. Think of it like buying some banks of synth presets that comes with a fully fledged synth.
Z3ta+ 2 is a great synth and at the discount price is incredible value for money. The v2 update is definitely worth upgrading for the new presets, extra controls and improved sound.
The discounted Rapture Pro upgrade is also a no brainer imo. I think of owning these synths as an extra resource of presets and even if I use only a few of them at the current discounted price they are cheaper than buying banks for Alchemy, DCAM and a number of other synths I own.

Bought. For this money, it really is a no brainer for me. I already have LE and I like what I get from it, so having the full version for £24.50 is peanuts. With this, Komplete 8, Sampletank XT and Independence Pro, I think I'm now pretty covered for workstations!
Actually.... there's still Steinberg's HALion Sonic! Nearly forgot about that!

I own these.
Z3ta 2+ is incredible.
Dimension Pro is a good rompler. Do I use it extensively, no, but is it useful to have yet.
Rapture is deceptively deep wavetable synth. It is a bit more difficult to use than most VSTs, but it is very rewarding if you invest the effort.
I am not saying these are the best out there, but for the bundled price they are worth it as a group. Dimension pro is probably the weakest of the lot, but its not bad by any means.

I just bought Z3TA+ 2 and am absolutely loving it. It has a well designed GUI, is very flexible sound-wise, moderate on the CPU, and has a large selection of decent filters. You can get analog-like sounds and also do all kinds of waveshaping weirdness. If only I had known about this synth years ago!
