Aujourd'hui.... To start, you can buy Kontakt 5 (sampler vsti lol) to make acoustic music (or classic and cinématic....(and nothing more!)). Or you can buy ACE, Diva (u-he) and minimoog V (Arturia) if you are looking for the best old virtual synth..

To finish, sylenth1 (lennar digital) for modern style. You know it....

I admit I'm still undecided. Part of my reasoning is because I want to stick with a more minimal and free library of sounds and VSTs which would save me money and force me to be creative with whatever I have. The other reason is that $37 is still a piece out of my money and it could be better if I save that in general and possibly towards Komplete someday.

I'll have to make a final decision by tomorrow's deadline.

thanks. There are so many free VSTs! Which one to get? lol, if I get them all it's overwhelming. haha

btw, how do you think those three programs sounds compare to Dimension Pro?

To be honest I can't think of anything that offers the consistent quality of Dim Pro. Sampletank is cheap but a lot of the sounds are subpar, particularly the synths. You have to wonder what they were smoking when they made them. Same for Sonik Synth, some good sounds hidden in a bunch of mediocre ones.

By contrast most of the Dim Pro patches sound like they were made by competent sound designers.

Come to think of it, most soft-romplers sound like they were created by good recordists, but crappy patch designers.

I agree, but this gets quite subjective. I thought I responded in this thread, but I didn't see it going through the pages.

I spent 99$ on the Pro upgrade and I don't regret it, but it is old as it is.

I admire Rene and still bang my head up against the wall when I use DimPro or Rapture, but at least I know how they work.

It seems too much trouble creating a shell of a song in DimPro than it once was. I kind of feel the same way about the NI stuff, and I completely believe they get so much flak that almost everything of theirs is underrated now IMHO.

But don't buy it for the presets. You might need it though.

Well installed Dimension Pro today and had a little play around with it. I think for the price you currently pay, you'll get a great bargain!
Highlight sounds for me so far are without doubt the pianos.
I think someone asked me a few pages back about the drums (for hip hop) in dimension pro. Sorry, haven't tried them out yet.
As for the quality of the samples, they really do go on the mega bytes used on each patch, which are on display.
All I can say to those sitting on the fence, I would urge you to consider purchasing DP. It won't be you be all and end all rompler, but it makes a great support instrument.

I upgraded specifically for the pianos

. I don't have $1500 to get something good, but the shell of a song is simply the way I work.

I very much like Dim Pro, but I have enough other stuff that I can manipulate much easier. It's all to taste.

BTW, it's actually around $34 for the upgrade download from LE to Pro while owning Home Studio 6XL. lol

Is Dimension Pro worth buying for ~$37?
