Seriously, I hate to be the subjectivist hippie of the group, but isn't taste in reverb kind of like taste in color? Can blue possibly be better (or worse) than orange?

I agree that different reverbs fit different applications. However, I can still choose a best out of all of my reverbs, which is the UAD 224. Also, while there is room for subjective opinions, we can have specialized critics for audio just as we can for food.

I have multiple reverb plugins but my favourite is Aether.

Are you referring to the "Programs"? The 224 has modes but those are utilitarian, such as Solo mode.

Whatever they are called. Programs, I guess. Whatever would be called "Concert Hall B" versus "Percussive Plate." I don't know the UAD 224 plugin, just the algorithms.

This is the way my mind works: I can't justify paying hundreds of dollars for a reverb because reverb is such an innocuous part of the total sound. If you put too much, you can be accused of sounding too amateur-ish or '80's. Unless you're a big Hollywood soundtrack composer who needs something like this.
What I haven't been able to find, and correct me if I'm wrong, and I'm sure someone will, is a good reverb with a good 'duck' feature. The one thing I notice on some tracks is how when the vocals end, the reverb comes up smoothe as silk. I think most people automate this. But, I'd love this feature on a reverb, where you could sidechain it to another track.

Ive been trying to download DC duckling compressor from the KVR challenge simply because it is if not the most stupidest plugin ive ever seen developed but in a good way as it has its own sound. Cant download it from the kvr challenge page and cant find it anywhere. This comment is completely irrelevant to the forum but Im wondering if anyone can help me on this please, Im begging

Duncan Parsons did that. He has Rough Draft (as well as quite a few other things). He's always on the forum, and a nice guy to boot. You could always PM him and see if he's got a copy laying about.

IMO, with a great reverb, you can push it up louder in the mix without having it ruin the mix. Most reverb plug-ins are too dense for this to be possible.

Smart Electronix has one. If you mean side chaining a reverb with a different track, I think it's only possible with your DAW.
