Thanks, you've saved the thread with a new subject - now we really can reach page 30...braj wrote:I'm personally more interested what Vince Clark or someone of that calibre in synth history thinks. What about Bob Moog, did he ever say anything about soft synthesis? I wouldn't imagine he was against them.

Page 30 is only possible with more hardware vs software vs software comparison bashing tests
However interesting theory with Bob Moog. If he grew up in our times with technology available today, I have no doubt he would be involved in some kind of Software development. In fact I think every historic inventor from the past would be thrilled about todays available technology and writing some kind of software. What would Da Vinci do?

Well at the time that was a pretty good emulation considering the state of hardware and softwareFrantzM wrote:Bob probably had bills to pay:braj wrote:What about Bob Moog, did he ever say anything about soft synthesis?Quote taken from: http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/pro ... tails.html"Arturia has done it again. Hmmmm. I seem to remember a recent thread where you and I both preferred clips of Cypher over Andromeda 6.zerocrossing wrote: I respect those (like me!) who choose to use software for what ever reasons they have, but I do not respect those who say software VA sound just as good as analog hardware and that people can't tell the difference, because it is not true.

Yeah that was the OLD Bob Moog who sold his name to Arturia. The YOUNG Bob Moog, if he was born in our computer era, would have developed synths himself, hardware or software. Most likely some lead developer somewhere..

Wow. We really have a misunderstanding here. The quote above is making fun of the English. Not Germans, Englishmen.Tricky-Loops wrote:For sure, he wasn't, because he died after the World War I. But I don't get the humor of the quote, and furthermore the Germans haven't invented the war.herodotus wrote:Richtofen was a Nazi?
It is from a British TV comedy called Blackadder. The main butts of the humor were British.
I'll raise you J.S. Bach, Hefeweizen, Strudel, Schneeballen, X-rays. and key discoveries in the science of acoustics. The Germans have invented other great things except the Blitzkrieg - for example Kraftwerk...Rammstein...Rucksack...Kindergarten...Sauerkraut...Wurstel...Hinterland...Bier...

The real question is, what does Norman Cook think about Mac vs PC, and more importantly, how it affects your ability to argue with people online.

Edison was a monster, I am sure he has plans to screw some poor scientist out of his life savings and rob him of his dreams and inspiration.Tricky-Loops wrote:Nowadays Edison could be a producer of solar panels...braj wrote:Well for those of us who believe in reincarnation maybe he will be doing that real soon.
