VST solution to multiple channel on-the-fly crossfading?

i'm looking for a 'multichannel-crossfader' solution for a DAW -- i've come across a number of cool little VSTs that make it possible to crossfade between two channels of audio, whether by feeding a single channel in a DAW with two signals panned away, or by using multiple instances of a single plugin on two channels that automatically decrease the volume of one as you increase the volume of the other (such as the free 'blue cat audio gain').
what i'm after though is a solution that takes more than two (an arbitraty amount) of audio streams and crossfades/morphs between them; a DAW-independent, VST-based solution that is. a DAW-specific feature like this would of course be ableton's effect rack:
thank you for any help or suggestions!

Looks to be a bit like KORE (discontinued).
Maybe try TRUC2 mini (bunded with Truc2) by delaMancha? It's a stereo in, 4x stereo out morphing plugin.

all it would take however would be to have multiple instances of a plugin on various channels that would gradually alter the volume, transmitting data to one another (there are a number of vsts that, when used as multiple instances, are able to 'see' one another within a DAW project).camsr wrote:VST only supports up to 6 audio streams, or 3 stereo tracks.

Surprising that TRUC2 mini works like a stereo in, 4x stereo out "mixing console" within FLStudio. In Cubase it does not work like that and needs a modular host like MetaPlugin or eXT.camsr wrote:VST only supports up to 6 audio streams, or 3 stereo tracks.
Maybe you interpret that for the limitations of certain hosts? Cubase for example can only use 6 discrete audio channels per channel strip, Nuendo IIRC 8. Modular hosts sometimes unlimited (between input/output).
Another idea that came to mind is "Insert Piz Here".
Initially I thought they had an X/Y pad for audio as well, but you could still use their tool "midiPads" for crossfading. It's harder to setup however (MIDI messages) and I don't know if it could be pulled off as needed, but I don't know of other solutions.

ahh, it appears the truc mini isn't included w the demo, i'm not going to pay for the full version only to find out it's not working. :/Compyfox wrote:Surprising that TRUC2 mini works like a stereo in, 4x stereo out "mixing console" within FLStudio. It's your call. I can however confirm that it works in DDMF's Metaplugin and eXT if you want to use it in Cubase/Wavelab.
FLStudio can use it natively, there's even a video on YouTube showing what it can do.

thank you for the confirmation, i did intend to use it in a steinberg DAW; the DDMF looks like a creativity powerhorse, great tip.Compyfox wrote:It's your call. I can however confirm that it works in DDMF's Metaplugin and eXT if you want to use it in Cubase/Wavelab.

well turns out de la mancha have a group buy '70% off on all' thing going on, so i grabbed the little bugger for $7 hoping it would work based on your recommendation.Compyfox wrote:Surprising that TRUC2 mini works like a stereo in, 4x stereo out "mixing console" within FLStudio. hmm truc2mini shows up with only two inputs when loaded in DDMF (two in - eight out)...yesandknow wrote:well turns out de la mancha have a group buy '70% off on all' thing going on, so i grabbed the little bugger for $7 hoping it would work based on your recommendation.Compyfox wrote:Surprising that TRUC2 mini works like a stereo in, 4x stereo out "mixing console" within FLStudio. Yes, I wrote that several times, you even quoted me on that.
Still a bargain for 7bucks.

Do yourself a favor and get FLStudio, and you can use it as a VST. You can route any mixer track to any other mixer track, as long as it doesn't feedback.yesandknow wrote:Compyfox wrote:Yes, I wrote that several times, you even quoted me on that.
Still a bargain for 7bucks.okay, i get it now. would there be a way of routing the different outputs to actual channels inside the DAW (cubendo), or i need to keep the signal within the confines of DDMF in order to be able to further process the individual truc2mini's outputs with VST effects?
