Hi friends,
i'm just demoing ConcreteFX Kubik at the moment. Well, i'm looking for a decent wavetable synth that has built-in possibilities to build your own wavetables from samples. Something just like you could do with the old Microwave/Wave synths. It seems that Waldorf isn't interested in making such a function into one of their vstis.
I spent some time on re-synthesizing wavetables in Alchemy and Zebra but i wasn't completely satisfied with the results.
Zebra has only 16 waveslots and so the resolution of the final wavetable is too rough mostly. Also the handling is much too time consuming, cutting 16 single cycles out of the sample then pasting into Wave2Zebra app then importing into Zebra. :(
In Alchemy it's much easier as you can import complete samples but very often i'm not pleased with the additive resynth quality.
Well, i love Zebra and Alchemy but it seems that both are not the first choice for resynthesizing samples/wavetables.

So i stumbled upon Kubik. Demo sounds and runs fine so far, also price is very fine. Kubik has a function that splits a sample into 64 slices and makes a wavetable. Hell, and this function isn't available in the demo version.

So, has someone Kubik and is using that wave-split function? Can you get good results with it?
Are there any further bugs/probs with Kubik i should know before buying?
Does anyone know if Kubik gets updates or is it a "dead" synth?

Thanks for your help!

Cheers,
Gerald

Thanks Piet!
I totally overlooked that there's an own forum for ConcreteFX.

I know Komplex-Term and Audio-Term since they came out. I'm just too stupid to handle these tools correctly.

It would be nice to see Jon (ConcreteFX) bring some of his Rob Papen experience to Kubik updates (maybe he and Rob together).

In the meantime, I think Jon will be around  , so I wouldn't yet call any of his stuff dead.

I hope that Jon is around here and he's well because all mail adresses from ConcreteFX seem to be dead. I purchased Kubik now two days ago via paypal. But no download link and serial so far. I sent two emails but both returned with a delivery failure.

Problem solved! Everything ok now.
Seems that there's some problem with a mail server or sort of thing.

Gerald
