I agree with the above 2 posts, I'm not saying that the whole over use of effects things always happens, But there have beentimes I've demoed a synth and the patches in the factory bank have effects piled on that when turned off reveal the blandness of the synth itself.

But yes I see your points! They can be handy for sure, just not a priority for me I reckon. I would just say that what effects a synth does or doesnt have would rarely effect whether I would purchase/use it. Can be handy though!

What the hell does hardware have to do with anything?

Are you trying to say George doesn't have the programming skills to add a quality Reverb to Corona? I'm betting the house he does.......

(For the record I don't own Corona yet but it is high on my must purchase list and adding a quality Reverb would only make it more appealing to me)

Well that's why I said I wouldn't 'hate it' if Corona got reverb :) Not like I am dying without it, and delay is more important as it may be tempo synced and be more important to the patch. I'm not by any means complaining, just noticing a space for it in the GUI and would be happy to have it

So turn off the Filter and see how bland things get.....they are both parts of the synth. Isn't it the end sound that counts not what parts were used?

In hardware the reverb is a must, because otherwise you'd have to carry an extra reverb unit around.

There's quality and quality. Think the verbs in Sylenth1, Zebra2, Largo vs. Lexi PCM Native, Relab XL480 or the one in Virus TI.

That sure turned out to be a serious debate ;) So what else do you guys/gals have to add or subtract from the rest of Coronas signal flow? Don't just look at the shoes she wears ;) Gating the arp by amp mod in the mod matrix is giving some fun results, esp with those nice LFO shapes. Fun to mod amp using OSCMIX, for example. What else have u folks discovered during yr trial run with C? Cheers

4.2 out now :)

What's new
  • Arpeggiator lock button. State won't change when switching presets or banks.
  • Filter and Modulation LFO fade-in buttons.
  • Documented Arp M1 and M2 sending MIDI CC 22 and 23.
  • Vibrato depth background gradient.
  • New discoDSP logo.
  • Corrected OSC 2 Level gradient background and label alignment.
Cheers,
George.

Thanks so much for the arp lock :D that's great, perfect! And my LFO fade in button, I'm impressed! Unfortunately on my machine that kills Corona and I have to reload it to get going again, so there's a bug at least on my box, Vista Core2Duo.

Additional info:

This only happens if the delay is set at zero when clicking the checkbox, otherwise it seems to work just fine :)

braj check your PM please.

That is with the filter LFO. If I set the mod LFO to adjust the filter cutoff, and check the box with delay at 0, initially it is fine, but if I increase it then bring it back to zero the sound cuts out again.

All the issues I saw are resolved with the new version :) I am having a lovely time with Corona, and really appreciating the arp lock feature. I am also appreciating the new free bank and will get the paid one when I have some extra cash.
