i love the drum machines, and thor,

the timestretch quality is great.

the question is how to work out which effects introduce latency and which don;t

i guess the only way to do that is to create two identical audio tracks and insert fx on one of them one by one and see which ones cause the files to be out of phase.
Our REs don't add latency, but I'm sure I read somewhere that PDC works automatically in Reason, ie REs can specify their latency if there's any, and then it's automatically compensated.

For sure BV512 Vocoder in equalizer mode, even 4 band mode introduce some latency. It's a joke, really

Loading them in the MUX which is loaded in the Racks(if ever will happen). So they got their 30% when someone buys the MUX.
Right... that's why the iPhone app store is full of Java and Flash runtimes. If RepellerHeads get 30% of the MUX price once for MUX and not another single penny because everyone will just use the VST plugins they already have, I don't think they'll be very happy. Either they'll try to foul up the experience of using MUX as much as possible, or they'll ban it outright. If I were a plugin developer, I'd just bypass CrapellerHeads entirely and build for open platforms (e.g. VST, AU, etc).

Devices of which I am aware there is latency (not including REs): the MClass Maximizer (when Lookahead is on), Vocoder (FFT 512 mode only), and Neptune

geez it's like a big rompler, so many sounds, it's actually very inspiring. I can't believe i am saying this.

:)

kong is both sampler, and synth modules (pm and analog and such).

30% was mentioned by Props CEO.

So for example let's take Audio Damage Rough Rider compressor. Although most Reason users have been saying for years that the MClass comp, SSL mixer comp and now Pulveriser are all they need so... why would they now rush to buy Rough Rider I wonder...?
Because it's a different flavour of compression, i.e. it sounds very different. That's like asking why do why do people buy CL1Bs when they already have 1176s.

I'm just speculating on a possible RE MUX. What I'm elaborating is for the MUX to load Rack modules, not VST outside Reason of course, that will not happen

The advantage over the Combinator is the amount of internal modules inside MUX, from drum synth to samplers synths and effects and LFO, ADRS and tons of stuff packed in the MUX which could do a lot in Reason, because internally, the MUX is a total modular environment. If it would be released in RE you could build inside the MUX entire racks of reason and patch them in a more efficient layout rather then the cable madness.

You can do that already in MuLab with your VST but very few realize that. Porting it to Reason could be amazing indeed.

In the end REs are all about some effects and a few CPU light vintage vst instruments routed in a labirynth of cables and sold at a very swedish price. 10 years after a simpler massive feature request (vst support). Too little, too late...

Kong combines sampling and synthesis. You can create some nice drum tones without any samplers using the sound generators in the effects sections of every pad. They're pretty powerful and you can apply them to any audio if you play with the rack.
