You can borrow mine as long as you don't treat it like the one in your infamous animation :P

I just tried buying the collection through the custom shop (just updated to 3.8 ) but I don't see how I can pay with my credits? (please don't tell me I can't buy the whole collection with some of my $173 credits.)

What I gather from the custom shop is that you have to pay conventionally for "traditional" packages, or "collections." E.g. if you want to buy Amplitube Fender all at once in the old manner of doing things, you can use jampoints if you've got them but you can't use credits.

You can however use credits for the "a la carte" purchases. My only problem with that was some quick math seemed to indicate I'd be taking a bath if I went that way, since the price of the pack after a few jampoints would end up being more, by quite a bit, if I bought them piecemeal than if I just bought the whole thing at once.

I swear, IKMM has a friggin' license to print money at this point, I don't even want to think about how much in total I've spent with the CS. The only heads I don't have are the Jet City ones (if you've got the Soldano, what's the point?), and the only effects I don't have are the Seymour Duncan ones (which I intend to get at some point, but I only have 10 credits and I'd like to wait to see if there's a sale).

On the other hand, holy crap these are great sounding models. The Orange 200W'er gave me a literal grin once I cranked it. They remain cutting edge, too, the new Slash sig stuff is awesome and it's crazy how many people IKMM has on board. Who brings Fender and Marshall to the same table officially? Seriously, who does that? Wow.

I gathered that too, but I hope IK does the right thing here. When I purchased credits in the custom shop it does not mention that collections sold in the custom shop are excluded. It says use credits to buy gear, which objectively doesn't exclude collections. They models sound great, but I just bought more credits with the intent of buying the "cool new release" that was teased. Now I can't without paying double.

cool, but wait until next winter...between now and then I can find someone else to lend me one so I'll have the world's heaviest snowshoes? Maybe it will become an olympic sport like the cross country skiing and target shooting...trek across the tundra mile after mile until you come to a laptop with AT, whip off one les paul, play a song, put it back on until you come to another laptop with AT, you whip off the other les paul, play a song, remove the first guitar and ride it like a sled down a hill, over a jump into a canoe where there is an SG for a quick paddle across a skating rink to the finish line...during a hockey game of course. We could call it the wannabeathalon.

You'll be judged on speed of completing the course, funny faces while playing, length of hair (mullet is worth double points), choice of material, AT choice of rig, style and keeping all three guitars both tuned and in intonation 8)

now I know what you're thinking, that would be hell on the guitars...but we're talking the mighty Gibson here, the magic guitar, the wonder...the legend...it should be child's play for such amazing guitars

I can confirm it sounds badass with a telecaster. Everything sounds badass with a telecaster. It's a couple of planks of wood with all the parts that don't rock removed. What else do you need?

That makes sense. I was thinking slash didn't do whammy....then remembered he actually does.......

Wow, respect for bringing these guys together! I remember rocking out to GnR exactly 20 years ago in a thunderstorm in Würzburg right in front of the stage... I'm really jealous that you guys got to meet the man in person ;-) Will have to check those models out for sure...

I posted this in the other thread but this is the "official one" so...

Here's a list of the modeled gear without beating around the bush. I've also included street prices when available.

MXR Smart Gate - $120
Boss DD-3 Digital Delay - $139
MXR Stereo Chorus - $170
MXR Custom Audio Electronics MC-401 Boost/Line Driver - $100
MXR Blue Box (fuzz/2 ocative lower effect) - $70
Dunlop SW-95 Crybaby SLASH Wah - $136

Marshall SLASH AFD100 head - $5,000
Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 - ????

Marshall 1960AV cab - $1,200
Marshall 1960BV cab - $1,200

All that gear for $80...not too shabby!

The cabinets aren't listed on the http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/slashcs/ page, FYI.

Slash Limited Edition Silver Jubilee runs around 3-4 grand on the second hand market iirc. There's another one that comes in around $2K. I get confused at all the various Marshall amps, so many of 'em, but they've got a sound that's very characteristically them. IDK.

Actual vintage head, depends on condition.

Anyway, great sounding gear... I'm a little wary of "you own X worth for only Y!" but literally everyone who does modeling markets the same way, it's just, no I don't, I own $80 worth of DSP models of that gear which I paid $80 for. They're really good models, and sound surprisingly damned close to the real deal, but I can't reach into my monitor and tweak the knobs or yank the head and cab out for a jam. ;) Worth the price? For sure! Comparable, in a genuine way, to having a literal warehouse full of stuff? ... Not so much.

But also not just IKMM. Everyone's doing the same kinda thing. And they are really great, authentic sounding models, provided you have the supporting audio hardware to make some magic happen. :)

Well, at 80 bucks at least it doesn't use a dongle and it's x64 ;)
