I am trying out the W2 Harmonizer again, it is pretty sweet, it works well with Catanya in Reaper. I'm hoping to see what you are working on soon, and hopefully whatever difficulties you had with support are resolved.

Great news, Catanya is fantastic. I'm hoping for four lanes, swing or groove lock and the option of not retriggering the sequence when changing chords. Keyswitchs to change presets could be great too.
If Catanya had all this it would be perfect. An update with at least a couple of those features would be very, very good too.

I think Standalone sums it up for me... +1standalone wrote:Great news, Catanya is fantastic. I'm hoping for four lanes, swing or groove lock and the option of not retriggering the sequence when changing chords. Keyswitchs to change presets could be great too.

I use Catania with Sonar X1. Is there a function which most other arpeggiators have, called 'HOLD'? I use a midi keyboard to trigger chords. When I press and hold a chord, Catania does the job. But as soon as I release the chord, it stops sounding.
Is it possible to use Catania in a live mode, without writing the chords in sequencer? I need HOLD button, please!

There's a free plugin here called midiNoteToggle:nemydom wrote:I use Catania with Sonar X1. Is there a function which most other arpeggiators have, called 'HOLD'? I haven't tried it myself but it should give you some sort of 'latch' functionality.

@Igor: It would REALLY great to get some sort of legato functionality in W2Harmonizer. ToneSpace does this so I'm guessing it isn't impossible. Anyhow that is my big feature request
it would make it much more musical. I tend not to use W2 because of this limitation, timing is too tricky but you have many more scales available than ToneSpace. i'd love the 'best of both'.
i guess another request would be for a force to scale feature and transposer allowing not just the chords but a normal melodic note mode. Right now I'm using midiScaleChanger from http://thepiz.org/pizmidi/?p=pizmidi to do this, but it seems a natural feature to include with W2. I'd basically love to use W2 to play chords or scales mapped only to the white keys starting from C in whatever key I select. I am lazy but I'm also disabled so it would help me immensely, and having everything in one tool would be so much easier to use. Thanks!

thanks. I downloaded it, but it doesn't work... I am not sure how to use it - it is not a user-friendly plugin.. Anyway, it is not what I need according to the description: "midiNoteToggle - Notes (optionally within a selected range and/or channel) are toggled... play a note once to turn it on, play it again to turn it off." It is a bit different: I don't want to play the same note again to turn it off...braj wrote:

I am sure it should be another, easy solution! MIDI-experts, please help me! Every single arpeggiator has 'latch' or 'hold' function! I am sure there should be a solution in Sonar or in Catania it self! Please help!

"Latch mode" generally means that when you hit a chord on your keyboard and then release it, the arpeggiator keeps on playing that same chord as a base (even after you've stopped pressing the keys). It keeps right on playing until you momentarily hit the next chord.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!!!!
That's exactly what I need!!! But I can't achieve it with Sonar + Catania! I am happy to use another DAW + Catania, please let me know how to get to "Latch mode"!!!!

To put it simple: How to turn 'on' the "Latch mode" in Catania?

There is no latch mode in Catanya.
The plugin I mentioned needs to be in front of Catanya in the signal chain. I don't know how Sonar routes things, but in Studio One for example it would go on a track, and Catanya would be on another, and you set the Catanya track to use that as its midi input. Then you arm both tracks. Similarly I imagine to how you are having Catanya drive your vst. Anyhow it still may not be what you need but this is along the lines of what you should need at least.
