Sorry, I'm a bit tired. Why does it make editing drum data a pain. i.e. why don't you put your drum data in the same sequencer track?ghettosynth wrote:I think that's right. It makes editing drum data a pain.
Just downloaded Reason 6.5 plus a couple of RE's from the shop...

I remember time ago, there was a funny thread in reason users forum, people put pics made by them about RE, most of them were very enthusiastic. Mine's were full of children enchained with cables and ABBA Racks. But they deleted them LOL
Different sense of humor...

As far as I know, the only software that allows this is Studio One.eXode wrote:Not on several rows, however on the same row you should be able to see the other notes, albeit greyed out. Afaik you can't edit notes in several clips at the same time (unless you join them).ttoz wrote:oh oh i seem to have hit a snag.. please help..
can multiple midi clips not be viewed simultaneously in edit mode?
uh oh this could change evrything

Sorry, I'm a bit knackered. I*ll try to put it more simplettoz wrote:i don't get what you mean.
i can click midi notes from anywhere and at least SEE them merged but cannot edit the tracks i am not on as in they're greyed out? that's good enough
but i can't even see a way to do that, i can only view data on the track i am on.
You can only view i.e. note data inside a clip on a single track at a time. Not two different tracks.
So, several clips on the same track can be seen, but the ones not active will be 'greyed' out until you select that clip.
But you can not see clips on different tracks at the same time. I hope I made more sense now. :)

Yes Studio One has a wonderful multiediting pianoroll and FL studio allows you to switch between Clips but S1 is perfect for this.myrna wrote:As far as I know, the only software that allows this is Studio One.eXode wrote:Not on several rows, however on the same row you should be able to see the other notes, albeit greyed out. Obviously when you do that, it's not a problem, but, that makes it more work to shape the structure using blocks and the mute feature. It's a feature that I'd like to have along with "make block from selection and replace" (and friends). After all, it's workflow that makes Reason what it is, I'd like Props to improve it some.eXode wrote:Sorry, I'm a bit tired. I seriously don't understand why you chime in. Studio one is not the only software that allows this., and in fact it's a relatively common feature in major daws.myrna wrote:As far as I know, the only software that allows this is Studio One.eXode wrote:Not on several rows, however on the same row you should be able to see the other notes, albeit greyed out. edit: I just want to point out that Logic, the DAW you claim to use, handles this just fine. (along with plenty others.)

I couldn't find a video on this. You are talking about the Pianoroll showing all midi event from any track at once in one pianoroll and being capable of working on them at the sometime?ttoz wrote:you use logic myrna and don't realise logic does it too?liquidsound wrote:Yes Studio One has a wonderful multiediting pianoroll and FL studio allows you to switch between Clips but S1 is perfect for this.myrna wrote:As far as I know, the only software that allows this is Studio One.eXode wrote:Not on several rows, however on the same row you should be able to see the other notes, albeit greyed out. If I could stand the Mac I would not mind the $199 for it. But maybe it's too advanced for my work.
