PSP BussPressor is a compressor optimized for group and master buss processing. It combines the sound of classic VCA compression with wide tuning capabilities. Extra controls allow you to adjust a side chain high pass filter or apply parallel compression. $79 intro price. Fully operational 14 days demo.

+1
Another nice & useful plug from PSP.

Post

Surely its name would suggest it should be part of PSP mix pack

Post

Yep, how does this differ from Mixpressor? Sometimes I'm very confused about PSP re-shuffling their code for all kinds of variations of the same theme...

They sure don't say much about it, but of course VCA+BUS=SSL with an appropriate amount of dbx heritage. I keep swearing I'll swear off of PSP, but I still seem to be going for nearly every other one of their offerings: mastercomp/microcomp, squad, nitro/n2o, oldtimer(s), nobleq(s) and easyverb/pianoverb. This new busspressor seems to be styled like squad's retroq. I sure like the more SSL-like GR meter in their Auria master section (below), though I see how the wanted to go more retro for the design. I was just bemoaning that my Duende bus comp didn't have sidechain, sidechain filter or parallel. I'll likely go for it at my intro offer of $65 if it sounds great.

I'm wondering why PSP didn't make ChannelStrip and MasterStrip as regular plugins?

They should, or should have, and it really is a little weird having an SSL-type buscomp that looks like it came from a couple decades earlier, unless of course, it's made by Shadow Hills. Does it go to 20 to 1 like an SSL should? The Auria seems to be 10:1 but with a range control (in this shot, anyway). Also, somewhere I got the idea that the Auria busspressor was more Neve-like.

Post

10:1 max / works as advertised / no apparent oversampling / not showing any delay in its own window / looks like squad's retroq / no back panel controls

 I don't want to buy this because I already have a zillion software comps (ddmf, the glue, PSP mastercomp, PSP oldtimer, Stillwell theRocket,...) but it pumps so nice on the drumbuss...

okay, been looking at this thread for awhile, I am stumped, I cannot find this channel strip on the PSP page - did they do this for a proprietary software or something?...did someone with some cool graphics program do a quick mock-up of something that doesn't exist...yet?

also, i'll have to demo the buss compressor - i'll just have to.

Yes...I have downloaded the Buspressor it looks nothing like the image above and everything like the image on PSP's website. Was the image above some kind of beta or a mock up? :help:

It would be a pity if it was a mock up as it looks like something I would use. :dog: :)
