I got my e-mail through FB within a minute, so it is strange some people haven't.

regarding the FB avoiders : my FB account has a totally fake name (it sound sreal though, of course) and an e-mail I only use for the fake FB account.
Took about 3 minutes to set up the mail and the FB account.
About 30% of the people I know for real on FB have fake name accounts, many Germans are very resistant to give out their data on the internet it seams

It's even fun to make up some false details about you job and life, a bit like a secret agent .g.

Such an account works nice for those special FB promotion stuff you constantly see these days

I made at least 50 attempts to get on to the website to register, so I was unable to get it through the website. I also tried the facebook method, still no luck, for some reason I couldn't progress.

Now I wonder why that could be...

Perhaps their servers were overloaded..?

I still want to take Arturia up on their offer. I'm not sure if I am going to accept the fact that I couldn't register through no fault of my own.

Lets just say if I don't get anything positive out of this I'm not sure if I would want to have anything to do with them in future. What they do now will determine whether I consider buying any synths from them in future.

Let's see, they offered a free synth to the whole world for one day and it responded en-mass. Not many companies give away stuff for free these days. Personally I think that's pretty, damn positive. But you make of it what you will.

Honestly, I cannot understand why if someone has had issues (be it whatever) they should feel the wrath of kvr'ers (usually a small percentage)

The facebook method worked, although it says I have to wait up to 48 hours to receive something. But I think I should have it by tomorrow, I hope.

It was aboviously a nice touch to offer this for free but to limit it to 1 day only with no facility to serve is a PR disaster for Arturia.

I honestly thought I would see a message stating "due to unforeseen demand for our giveaway crashing our servers we have extended the offer for 1 week"

marketing-wise this was still a great move by them. the hype was equivalent to a blockbuster movie release, and i think that every single music-related website, blog, Facebook page, and Twitter profile linked to Arturia yesterday.

however, i don't understand why they haven't prepared a dedicated server for this. i mean, everyone new that there will be tons of people on the d/l, since they announced it a week early.

they still got a lot of attention this way (much more than they'd get with any paid advertising campaign), but with "smooth sailing" registration and downloads on the 21st, the image they made would have been perfect. plus, new visitors would probably stick around on their website and check out other products, had the website not been collapsing.

perhaps the main goal was to increase the FB fan base, though. job done then, but it still would have been done better with fast downloads and a working website.

Thankfully got mine (directly via the site). Not bad sounding, not the end of the world if you didn't get it thuogh (BTW, I'm sure the FB serials still need to be sent out... I haven't gotten the serial I applied for via FB either...).

Let's see what happens 48 hrs means tomorrow. So tomorrow everybody should have the activation code (and the mail with the download link).
