I think the internet is making people fastidious. In the past, we had to drive 100km for special offers, try to dial a telephone number 50 times or write postcards for give aways, these days even klicking with the left finger without even leaving the chair is already too much to get a 150$ present...

addendum: A Facebook account was NOT required. I did NOT use the Facebook method. They suggested this when the site was overloaded, but noone was forced to. The page with the serial request form was always there, but indeed took many tries to load. I think the only mistake they made was offering the software download from the same servers as the inquiry form. They should have used a filehoster for this or direct to the torrent more early. Next time the may know better. (I would be really curious about the number of downloads they got - maybe they will rethink about their pricing policy after it's clear now that many people are interested in their plugs but where kept away by the costs....)
Did you get the free Minimoog V ?

I was actually inspired by it right as soon as I tried it. Very good for a free product but I wouldn't
buy the "full" version as I already got too many synths already.

There are some pretty basic 1 Osc presets in the Templates folders......Mushy Mushy wrote:How do I initialise the patch so I can start from scratch?

Ah ok. Saw them but didn't know if there was a better way. Also wasn't sure which presets had effects on them.Teksonik wrote:There are some pretty basic 1 Osc presets in the Templates folders......Mushy Mushy wrote:How do I initialise the patch so I can start from scratch?

The effects templates are labeled or you could use the 1 Osc preset and then add effects by linking Midi CC's with your controller if you have one. Delay and Chorus parameters are available for automation.Mushy Mushy wrote:]Ah ok. Saw them but didn't know if there was a better way. Also wasn't sure which presets had effects on them.

No need to explain anything to me. I have the synth and I didn't have to go through Facebook to get it.biscuit13 wrote:billcarroll: i didn't talk about installation file and about link to this file sended by automatic answer by minimoogvoriginal@arturia.com .
i'm talking about activation code. it is code you need, to have full functionality of installed plugin.
David from Arturia was also posting and replying to posts during the giveaway. Did you try contacting him?

I had to hit the reload button maybe 20 times, until I finally could load the site with the form. Then the captcha wasn't loaded correctly, and I had to reload the site once again at least 20 times, till everything was displayed correctly. But by sending the form data I've got some errors -- and suddenly, like magical, the email with the download link and the activation code arrived.
It was kind of a challenge...

I got the downloads within a few minutes using the torrents, and the activation code a day later using the Facebook link. I think they did a good job really and clearly gave it a lot of thought: not only was there the main download links, there was also torrent links (which get faster the greater the demand), The Facebook site (which even if Arturia's servers couldn't take the strain, is used to a lot of traffic), a thread and active contact here at KvR when they realised they were having problems with the main server, and a contact email as well. Plus it turns out although the plugin is called "Minimoog original" it actually has more features than the version 1 of the Minimoog too - it even has the preset soundmap which wasn't added till v2, and a lot of the supposedly unavailable features are actually just hidden away and can be accesed by most hosts. Pretty good deal I'd say.

I tried to get the freebie and couldn't because I couldn't connect and got really frustrated and bitter until I remembered I had already bought the full version many moons ago. When you have GAS you lose track of what you own.

I've also got Minimonsta and think it sounds just as good as Minimoog V and has many cracking presets. I tested them out yesterday and both sound great but not as good as DIVA (but then what is?Doug1978(tempID) wrote:I didn't get it but it's no bad thing - already too many plug-ins and I'm happy with Minimonsta
