They are both free to TRY. Then if you like it, save your pennies and wait for a sale. Nothing like getting an ALMOST $7000 JP8 for $200 or so
Yes, Arturia is running a promotion for the Arturia Analog Experience The Laboatory. The current promotion gives you a choice of 3 of their synths for free, fully licensed.

After I also got the free Minimoog V original free as many others did, I purchased the Arturia Analog Experience The Laboatory 49 key keyboard which comes with the Analog Laboratory standard -- 3500 presets ranging through their analog emulations.

Then, under the current promotion, I picked the Moog Modular V, Prophet V, and Jupiter 8V. I now own fully licensed unrestricted copies of each, and they retail for $249 each.

So, this month Arturia gave me 4 free synths:

- Minimoog V Original
- Moog Modular V
- Prophet V
- Jupiter 8V

The Minimoog V Original is the only one of the bunch with any limitations.

Thats amazing if you ask me.

Came off holiday to find I had missed it all. However, the arturia guys linked to an FTP on gearslutz, and so i downloaded the demo. Happy to use it in demo mode, but I would have loved to collect a proper code. Oh well, maybe next year...

hey, just a quiet word of thanks to the kind KVR member who offered me their unused code on the back of my forum post. It's really appreciated, and totally unexpected - really. It's times like this that I love KVR and its member support, and I'm glad I've been around here to enjoy the debate and banter for the last 8 years!

I'll find a way to forward the good deed onwards - I have some older software [such as NI GR4] that I will sell on for charity as soon as I've dug the box down from the loft. Cheers!

I manged to get it after several tries on the day it came out. I like it so far. I've had a lack of inspiration for writing/recording my own stuff lately, but I have programmed a few sounds in it. :)

Eh, maybe I'll think of something that will use it soon.

Let's not forget Aftertouch, which the Arturia has and many keyboards in this price range don't. To get 3 synths for free worth $249 each just blows me away. I've had a moog and loved it, but quite frankly Arturia's Analog Experience The Laboratory is more fun to play with given the range of synths I now get access to.

I love the Prophet but the Jupiter 8V has really surprised me. I didn't expect to fall for the Jupiter like I have, and it could well end up my favorite of the bunch.
I got mine yesterday(1 day freight to sweden, thank you ups).

I just love all about this product, the keyboard as well. And it's not as stiff with key at bottom as others, aftertouch really give you a feel as well.

The concept is really great, so easy to tweak right from hardware. In depth configuration is also really well made.

The only thing I hate about many patches are how Mono/Legato and is implemented as standard. I have to tweak those patches to Mode Last, to work as expected. Never seen such an implementation in anysynth, hardware or software.

I don't think anybody that actually play synth has tried those patches - really weird. If overlapping key down, going upward in pitch you get new attack, but going down you don't.

But I played with Prophet bass patches mostly, maybe it's better with the rest. But just changing Mode to Last it's nothing but love. Awesome sounds.

Anyone else still waiting for their codes? I've tried emailing the support-email mentioned on the product-page (minimoogvoriginal@arturia.com), but I keep getting an automated reply...

I actually had the chance to muck around with it...it does sound very similar to my Minimoog here...keep in mind the variations within each Minimoog. :)

I got my code about 48 hours after I applied - and was able to download it once I got back home from vacation (the laptop I was using was too old and feeble to install it to that). Works great on the Mac Mini with Cubase.

I Got the moog through facebook thanks to the forums on here pointing that out. Have to say that Its great, possibly best freebie Ive ever had and since its the serial alone I can put it on whatever Computer I get in the future. Nice one arturia. Soundwise, Just playing on it in standalone was worth the download and if I ever want a moog sound in a project this will be first port of call, and over a 1000 presets to go through....

if any Maschine users want the VST presets to appear in their library ive converted them all:
