Hello everyone! I see that Native Instruments has begun its yearly 50% off sale,

http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... newsletter

and Im wondering what everyone thinks of the following libraries:

Alicia's Keys, Abbey Road 70s and Modern Drummer, and Session Strings Pro.

I already have a piano vsti, the Galaxy Vintage D, so I am not very interested in Alicia's keys, and the Studio Drummer/60s drummer instruments that I have are pretty cpu intensive and annoying already, So, naturally I am leaning towards Session Strings Pro. The only other orchestral library i have is Kirk Hunter's Diamond Orchestra, so I'd like to know if Session Strings Pro is a must-have or if it's not very impressive to people's ears. I often compose pieces that combine pop/rock and orchestral sounds, so I am aware that Session Strings Pro may be suitable, even though many people say that it's not designed for traditional orchestral compositions at all.

I'm looking forward to everyone's responses.

Thank you.

Does anyone know if this covers upgrades?

Post

It doesn't. Sorry. :(

Goddamit. I thought these summer/Xmas sales usually did!

It changes every year. Unfortunately, Abbey Road 80s drums isn't available like it was last time. I wanted it. I would trade it ifI could.

ANYWAY, does anyone have any opinions on the mentioned products above?

No discount for existing KONTAKT owners? That's the second fail from NI within a month for me ( First they fail to sell me their "bass invaders" and now this :D )

Sorry, cannot comment on the sound libraries as I don't have them. I only have Shreddage and Steven Slate Drums EX, plus my DIY samples..

I know you the OP didn't mention these, but the Vintage Organs are AWESOME!

is Damage boxed? wow this would be a must have then.

Pretty lame of NI to not include the K5 upgrade at %50 off.. grumble grumble..

Also Session Strings Pro is cheaper to buy the full version than the upgrade, no upgrade discount - huge fail! I'm tired of handing over any money to this company. The way they keep trying to make you pay to upgrade a product you already own also...and not letting you re-sell downloads that cost the same as a boxed version that you can resell :? . nuff said...

Pity Guitar Rig or Komplete upgrade are not for sale

This Sale is as lame as Germany's game against Italy tonight.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Yes, the organs are great, but I own them, as I have Komplete 8 Producer. I already have nearly all of the products on the list though. They only ones that remain are Alicia's Keys, the two Drummers products, Scarbee Pre-Bass (I already have the MM bass), and Session Strings Pro. Of course I'd like to purchase the latter if I can justify it, but maybe I should save for Spitfire Albion instead.

Again, does anyone have opinions on the two Drummers libraries and Session Strings Pro?

I just wish Komplete update would go on sale. I have Komplete 4 and want to update to the newest Komplete, but at well over $200 I cannot afford it.

Once upon a time it was under $150 - the cheapest I found was at Sam Ash for $120 at the time. Not for the current - I think it was for 7. I should have grabbed it.

DAMN!

Mike

I guess I should wait for the complaining to subside...
