Is there a point to this? (edit, should I post a cat pic?)
@op: not sure where you are going with this. Are you asking if you can update the included MD S1 version to the "full editor" version?
I don't have an answer but maybe someone could?

Having literally just done exactly that, I can confirm you can upgrade your Melodyne Essentials license to either Assistant (which I went for), Editor or Studio, with the original cost of Essentials cut from the upgrade price.

Just bought the Celemony Melodyne Essential (from Studio One) to Editor 2 Upgrade at audiodeluxe.com for $199 the other day and after minutes I received my new 'Product Serial Number' for Editor 2.royaldeadman wrote:so do you receive a box edition or is it electronic? I want studio.

Maybe I misunderstand but if you have Editor in S1, why would you need "Studio"? Afaik (and maybe I missed something) "Studio" is just a multitrack version of Editor?
You'd already have "multitrack melo" with the Editor version in S1. If there's something Studio allows doing that can't be done in the ARA Editor across multiple tracks, I stand corrected. That might only be seeing the melo "blobs" across multiple tracks at the same time, since S1 only has one editor window.

I upgraded my copy of essentials from Studio 1 v2 to Editor 2 direct from Melodyne (download only copy) so the answer is yes.royaldeadman wrote:Can I upgrade the melodyne editor version to the full edition?
One thing to be aware of however (and something I'm not sure of tbh), is what happens if you want to resell S1 v2, as the original essentials license number still appears in my Presonus account. Might be a bit of hassle if you want to sell either plugin separately in the future, and would certainly affect the S1 resale value. May be better in the long run to buy a $50 essentials license and upgrade from that
Sorry I didn't do that myself in hindsight
