I tried to score a short film with Live 8. Many problems. Couldnt load my kontakt template as I ran out of memory in 32-bit. Bunch of 3rd party plugs that work fine in Cubase then crashed Live. You get the picture...thecontrolcentre wrote:I did a six hour DJ set with Live 8 on Friday night ... no problems.StateMedia wrote:For Me. Live is a valuable studio tool. But v8 was so full of bugs. I wouldn't trust it Live at all. I still use it for sorting out tempo changes and some writing. But I wouldn't be out DJ-ing with it...

Jbridge will allow your Live mixes to be 14GB in size. It will make live feel like your using a DAW in the electrical age.

Remember when this stuff was exciting? Speculation was generally rewards (though sometimes it took some time) with new toys, and fun outlooks?
Forget about it people. It's dead. Oh, there will be all kinds of new vst/i's, but nothing new to use them with. Better dig in and get used to what you have......you're gonna be using it a while

Hosts are inadequate. There is no doubt that tech has slowed down quite a bit. One does one thing well, and others things not so well. I'm bummed. W/o going through every instance, I have taken the long dark path of being a host ho just to end up with a "one and only" that is now not being developed anymore (sigh, like tracktion, ext)
SOMETHING would be great. Live: dead imho. No? Prove it
They took a great product and instead of fixing the core stuff back in version 6 (when the real problems started) they started the whole "max" thing, and it carried on, and became bloated, and then they fell behind and........
No offense to those who use it and love it, nothing is wrong with the paradigm. I loved it, but having the cpu crap out and 70% and all the bugs were unacceptable so I made the decision to sell it. What has been developed since then? Sounds like a bunch of bugs and unhappy customers to me.
Shame.

It was a joke.
Sorry to hear you're unhappy. While I don't share your perspective (you probably know that) I do think it's valid. Given the choice of dicking around in order to get something to work or just making some goddamned music... Most people will choose to just make some music. Unfortunately, when something doesn't work for you, it doesn't matter how many people it does work for, you're still gonna be pissed that you are stuck dicking around with it until something does work.
I understand the frustration. 90% of what I do at work everyday is figuring out why something doesn't work the way it should. When I go home to work on music, if something doesn't work, I'm not in the mood to troubleshoot. Fortunately for me, if something in my music rig stops working, I have numerous back-up solutions that will get me up and running again. I know that doesn't help you much.
Relying on technology sucks.

And about Live 9, it's not dead as far as I know. I don't have to prove it to anyone and no one has to take my word for it. It's all just speculation.
Even if it were dead, I'd happily use Live 8 until I found a solution to replace it.
