It's a good deal for those that can use it (kontakt full), but it's not the "whoa" it used to be since so many libraries work fine with just the player.

I don't know if there is a library I'd be interested in except that funk guitar thingy. Not sure if I want to cough up 60 bucks or not. I'll think about it. 8GB though, that's a rough go even with DSL.

Yes, this is a real shame. The full version of Session Strings Pro is now 149 euros in the sale but the upgrade is still 199 euros. So in reality buying the full version is cheaper but still only a 25% saving if you already own Session Strings. I wonder why they didn't just make it 50% discount for everyone? It's annoying considering I bought Session Strings when it first came out before the pro version existed and upgraded Komplete for the fourth time to the latest version while it was still on pre-order. I mean how much more loyalty do they need before they give us a break?

This sort of sale at one time would have had 3 pages of responses by now.

Times have changed. I suspect a certain saturation of the existing market for these products and not many 'new' customers.
Maybe just for me last year for the first time I didn't use all the discount coupons I had earned.

That said, this sort of sale usually dioes precede some sort of new product announcement.

Good deal?
50 % of the Kontakt in these days is not a good deal at all,
comparing that just some months ago you got NI Komplete /Ultimate
including Kontakt and a many many many other plugins
by putting just some additional euros for this "sale Kontakt" price.
Everything is relative, of course, but in these economically hard days
I wouldn't advice anyone pay full prices. H.

There is hardly any major difference between 4 & 5 anyway, the new filters and time stretching stuff is appealing but no way worth 99 Euros. There is probably Gb's of additional content, but for someone like me who never uses ANY included content what's the point ? I use Kontakt as a sampler only, for my own samples, not the stuff they provide, there should be a content free version for people who just want a sampler.

But that's just way too much common sense for anyone in business really.

I think one can only buy this as a regular snailmail shipment, not as download. Which means I would have to add 25% VAT + customs handling charges, ordering it from abroad (outside EU).

To wait around for the next Komplete is wiser for me.

In a way I'm happy, because my wallet always seems to be lighter after having visited the market place in this forum
