Yes, I agree it's starting to become a bit annoying. Some of us click on these threads in the hope to find some new interesting discussions and information, not to wait for some irrelevant gif animations to load.
I didn't want to be a killjoy, but I have to agree as well. I check the thread when it is updated so I can get some news about Bitwig Studio, and the last three or four pages have been nothing but cat gifs and YouTube links.

Honestly, guys, if there is nothing to say about the thread's topic, just stop updating the thread.

(And yes, I like cat pictures very much, but I come here for audio-related stuffs. When I want to look at cat pics, I go to Reddit.)

On topic: I'm quite excited about Bitwig and I hope it will be a lot cheaper than Live. Also Live 8 was too buggy for me so I put my hopes on this so called 'rewrite' which promises to be more stable and maybe even easier on CPU. Fingers crossed. Hopefully people start to receive the beta downloads soon and there will be more real talk than just fuzz. Might happen in the beginning of July?

On cats and butts: Wow. I'm amazed how grown-up men and women can act like idiots on internet boards. I consider myself a relatively young person but posting irrelevant pictures has never came to my mind. Why would I do that? Why do YOU? It's not funny in any way. It annoys the hell out of me. This behavior is comparable to the kind of people who like to sit on a park bench so that their dirty boots ruin it for other people who prefer to sit there like normal persons. Really... there's reddit, 9gag and 4chan. Take your lols back there, be silly there and try to stay on topic here.

The original purpose of the cat pictures - at least from my POV - was to combat the rampant speculation about the state of BitWig.

It's one thing to muse about the possibilities of a new host and what we are all looking forward too (some very nice features proposed!). It's quite another to speculate that the beta has not been released yet because BitWig are in dire financial trouble ... blah blah. It hardly bares repeating, so I will stop there.

Basically, the BS got a bit out of hand so we got cats ...
