Did the free Arturia minimoog make you want to buy any full version Arturia products?

Software from arturia ? I don't know.
If they dropped the dongle and sold synths for like 49 EUR, I might get the Jupiter 8, but I won't pay more for a Soft-Synth.
I prefer to save my money for hardware these days.

No, not because of the free Minimoog. I would never buy the full version. Too expensive and average compared to other Minimoog emulations.
I would buy a new synth if it's good like the SEM but with a introductory offer. The asked price for the Arturia synth is for the quality and the features too high.

Arturia also have a very bad marketing. They have completely no idea how to sell products. They provide the free Minimoog, which is very nice. But why they don't make a special Minimoog cross-grade offer for 2 weeks or so for the full version? How much would people pay for additional modulation stuff, some effects... 80€?
They would sell a lot of this Minimoog V also when all knows that this is not the best Minimoog emulation.

I dont vote becouse i dont yet know but i like presets but something their timbre is not for me but something is. but i allready have so many synths its hard imagine sound what i cannot make with them. but i need more samples. But analog factory experience when i tested it is very buggy i mean all jupiter 8 v based sounds crashed it. and this is analog factory maybe their best product if i forget minibrute. and i think processing helps lot with all softsynths...

After a lot of people ask again and again there was some of this like "we thinking about some of this next week". But this gives a good idea that they completely don't have an idea about selling their products. Such stuff must be planned before they make such a offer with a free synth. This could be the start of a good marketing strategy "how we could sell some more Minimoog V".

Same with the lot requests about enhancements for the new SEM. It lacks some stuff like mono legato, many people asking for something like Unison etc. This is a very new product and some of this synth (eventually the only) where people have more interest. No idea why there is completely no further development to enhance such stuff quickly? Ask the same Urs from U-He and be sure it's implemented in some weeks with a Beta and released after 1 month

I wouldn't go as far as you do - they should have anticipated this.

Their servers were down all 24 hours close to - so it was not anticipated one could say.

Maybe they hoped for some buzz over Arturia - and they succeded in that - and were probably overwhelmed.

Still it's summertime and probably low sales period - since everybody has gigantic fire sales and discounts right now.

I remember testing the first Arturia product I knew about - Brass and saxophones were crap in their first version there. Otherwise there is no "bad emulation" written all over Arturia in my case.

Analog Laboratory is really neat and well sounding all the way. Very pleased with the sounds testing Prophet and Oberheim more in detail so far. Yes, the Oberheim standalone froze once for me yesterday, who knows what happend. It takes a good second to switch patches so in between there are some things not handled well. It could be graphics drivers or anything.

They have not planned to benefit from the more interest and use it to generate more sales. There is no "summer sale" nor a special "Minimoog V full version" offer - but now is the right time for this!

It's a bit a shame for Arturia that they don't use this good idea with the free Minimoog to push some other products more in the foreground.

I'm sure after a lot of readings from Arturia in the forums they will think about some stuff in the next week and learn about this disaster.
At first they should replace the marketing guys. It would also a good idea to think about MK2 versions of some of there emulations. Best they start with the renaming from the Minimoog to Mini and use this to improve some of their algorithms to come close (or better) to Diva or Minimonsta.

Well thanks for the heads-up. You mean $100 of course. Plus postage (I'm in the UK). Amazing reduction, I'd guess that would be around (an optimistic) 80 GBP inclusive. Hmmm... (cue: sound of thinking).

Nope...Arturias stuff is ok, but there are much better emulations of most of their offerings from other companies.

Guitar Center just put the Analog Experience The Laboratory 49 key on sale for $289 for their July 4th sale. Buy it and register before June 30 and get 3 free synths from the V collection. That my friends is a SMOKIN deal.

I bought the keyboard a couple of days ago for $349 and Guitar Center refunded me the difference, giving me the sale price.

I don't know about your marketing suggestions - but you were right about standalone versions of their software - flaky.

I ran Laboratory this afternoon and trying to select a patch for Jupiter8V and froze app right away. I could not even kill process, I had to reboot computer.

VST versions though run just fine.

great loss leader as i always found that the minimoog emu stacked up very well against competition, i was always slightly disappointed with some of the others against other comparable vst offerings. i've owned most of them at some point or another and if you could do away with the pretty photorealistic ui there seemed to be other (often free) options with similar capabilities.
