Personally I've decided to upgrade (at full upgrade price) to GUITAR RIG 5 PRO. I was expecting a 'better' sale but it looks like that's not going to happen this summer.

I have Abbey road 70s Drums. It's great. Fully featured. IMHO they really improved it 100% when they converted the K4 version to K5. Lots of FX, drag and drop grooves etc. Maybe you could look at some YouTube Videos as well.

70s drums sounds great of course! I'm not sure how usable they are compared to Modern Drums though.
I would really appreciate 80s Drums because I love the 80s gated sound, but it's no on sale. I could trade a newly purchased boxed version, but that may not be ethical, and I strive to be ethical in all affairs.
Anyway, yes I've listened to a fair number of demo tracks for Modern and 70s drums, but I's like to know if one product is better suited to a certain genre or work-type.
Also, how is Session Strings Pro? I've heard of people who dislike it, as it sounds fake to them, but perhaps they are wrong.

I'm wondering about getting Kontakt in this sale. I need a sampler for making uber complex beats, I need as many FX and manglers as possible, the ability to modulate start, end, loop points, ADSR and FX levels, pitchshifting and timestretching etc. Currently I'm using the brilliant Short Circuit but that does a (barely audible but still annoying) number on attack transients.

Just in case anybody buys an update and is wondering why their new product is not backward compatible. You need to download additional file updates which do not automatically announce themselves in the Service Center. Nice one NI. You sure know how to make things fn complicated.
Go to your personal downloads area and you'll see for example;

About my issue with N.I. about Session Strings Pro(upgrade from Session Strings) I had sent them an email, the reply is as follows
"Thank you for contacting Native Instruments!
The current offer only includes 10 products in their full versions due to the 10th
birthday of KONTAKT. Please be patient for some time, there might be an
interesting offer in the foreseeable future. If you need the software right now,
please purchase the full version as it's currently cheaper than the upgrade."

Would anyone be able to offer opinions on the products that I discuss in my first post? I admit that the original topic description was misleading.
Also, if it helps, I already have Komplete 8 Producer (Scarbee Vintage Organs, World Drums, West Africa, Studio Drummer, Abbey Road 60s Drums/Drummer, Scarbee MM Bass). I also purchased Scarbee Funk Guitarist Retro Machines Mark II separately.
Basically, I'm looking for the product that would offer new and unique sounds---Modern Drummer may already be covered by Studio Drummer, MM Bass may or may not be better than Pre-Bass, and my Galaxy Vintage D is satisfactory.
In essence, I'm most interested in the 70s drum sound and Session Strings Pro. (Damage isn't the raw orchestral library I would like, from my understanding.)
On another note, if 80s Drummer were on sale, I would choose it instantly. If I am to purchase a product from Native Instruments, it will be boxed, so I probably could trade products. Before I become too tangential, I hope to read some responses.

I could also upgrade for <400€ to Komplete 8, there is some discount for existing users (I think it's because of my Kontakt 1.5).
Same for only Kontakt 5 (I would pay 99€)...
But... I don't need a Sampler and also not Reaktor and all this stuff.
IMO the other deal they had (bass thingy) with Massive, FM8 was the most interesting deal from the last days.
For this actual offer I found the libs most interesting (for me it's Alicia's Keys) but also the other libs are not bad.

I actually went through auditioning some sample library demos today. IMHO the Alicia's keys and the scarbee bass lib are not the best available samplelibs of their type, but their discounted prices make them almost desirable.
But as for myself, wont be buying either.. Sample libraries are so expensive that I'd rather buy the best one straight than to end up buying several different samplelibs of the same type.. YMMV as usual.
Having said that, I wish that 60s Abbey Road lib was on sale.. That one sounds pretty funky.

I also own a Komplete 8 license and I was thinking to get the Session Strings Pro, but after listening some of the demos I'm pretty convinced NOT to buy it.
I will put some money in the piggy-bank and get Adagio by 8Dio or Cinematic Strings 2.0 or CineOrch or whatever else, less plastic sounding.
From what I see, there is nothing in the Session Strings Pro that you can't do in Kontakt's default VSL, so you basically pay 150 EUR just for a arpegiator and some ensemble paning.
