Time to vote for your top 5 tracks. All tracks are here.
RULES:
- Give 5 points to the track you think is best, 4 for second, then 3, 2 and 1.
- Voting is open to anyone.
- Last day for voting is 15th July (KVR time).
- If you have entered in the competition, you must vote to be eligible for prizes.
- No voting for yourself.
- Voters must have had 20 prior forum posts before start of the voting period, or participated in this month's contest.
- In the case of equal scores after voting, entries will be separated by how many 5 pts they got, then 4 pts and so on.
Votes can be changed before deadline, but must be made as a new post and clearly show it's a change of vote in order that it gets noticed.
HOW TO VOTE:
You should allocate your votes, in a single post, in this thread ... something like this:
Artist zxy - Track zxy: 5
Artist xqy - Track xqy: 4
Artist zyx - Track zyx: 3
Artist zqx - Track zqx: 2
Artist qzx - Track qzx: 1
NOTE:
Reviews, however brief, are always welcome. Even if you can only find the time to add a short comment, then please do! ...it keeps the thread alive and encourages others to listen/vote.

Thanks Fabrizio! A minimoog-V remix is a good idea. I don't think there are rules against that sort of thing, are there?SKYZONE wrote:AdagioCm - moogxgene 2 points

There is: "Your entry must be composed specifically for this contest"

Hmm.. I would rather see that rule as "this entry must be released specifically for this contest", as in not reuse previously released materials (used in other contests, or for whatever reasons).adagiocm wrote:Ah, I see. ...just because I see covers are allowed... why wouldn't he be allowed to do a cover over himself?
(Just saying.... don't want to start a never-ending discussion
@Fabrizio: many thanks for your vote

Jackoo, yes, I was also interpreting that rule as you did, but it's ok. I think I will do the remix but not as an OSC submission. I'm already working on something else for Minimoog-V OSC anyway

Yes the cover rule is a loophole like pointed out, maybe the rule needs to rewritten like you say Jackoo.

I see it as more of a subtle technical distinction than a loophole. For instance, if one were to take a track previously used, completely re-engineer all the voices for the new synth, then completely rerecord all the tracks (DO NOT use the same MIDI data), it would be a cover, but not a 'remix'. I interpret the rules as signifying a "remake" along these lines would be fine, but a "remix" - i.e. reusing any previous material such as note or automation data - would be forbidden.V'ger wrote:Yes the cover rule is a loophole like pointed out, maybe the rule needs to rewritten like you say Jackoo.

If I composed a track for OSC-XX and now wants to use the same track in OSC-YY. Except that I would be using the synth selected for OSC-YY. What's wrong with that?
It's I who composed it in the first place, so how does it matter? It's a synth challenge anyway not a composition contest. If my track sounds good on Synth X and on Synth Y too then it's all the more better.
I am just trying to get my head around with this rule, that's all.

Well... What does it mean syntch challenge, is it only about sound design or maybe only about composition?
What are sounds without composition and what is composition without sounds?
If you think, composition is not so important, just record your sounds without composition and wait for voting.

I understand what you are saying about composition and sound design. But you certainly missed my point. What I am saying is, why an older track specifically composed for one OSC cannot be reused in another OSC. The composer is same. Does it have to be a new composition? For example, lets say one of the old track is sounding much better in the current synth so can it not be submitted again? The submitter has to do the sound design, etc. in the new synth anyway.
