Hello all together,
what impressiv sound in this challenge ... all of you are "Moogished" :)

So after a very fast drive on the highway i will give my points away:

5 Points -> Stonail - Waiting For Fadeout
I like the percs and the FX. Great bpm changes and nice mainline.

4 Points -> Jackoo - Thunder Mogue
Classic Moogplay, nice bass and impressiv play.

3 Points -> PulseWidthModulation - Pop-Collar Lover
Great: 80s! I'm a kind of the 80s. I like the pop sound and the main line.

2 Points -> Photonic - Darkside of the moog
Nice background guitar i hear, great percs.

1 Points -> Skyzone - Dream Like Mogue
I swing in and out: this track vs. MogueGreatFx. So the winner is Dream like a mogue: nice background fx, sweet and chilling song structure.

Other tracks very near the points (in no special order):

IrionDaRonin - BeautifulElectronicCreatureRaising.mp3
Nikp2000 - The Creeper.mp3
Ruedirena - Hot Stuff.mp3
Skyzone - MogueGreatFx.mp3
Z.prime - Far From Earth.mp3

All songs are great, thx for your music.

Good night from europe

great drum sounds and really good production. wonderful development. really nice flow held my interest all the way through.

3 pts Kraftraum - Rotation 6
great sounding track. good development, good sounds, good groove, good production. likey!

2 pts Yeager - How To Catch A Fly
clever track. nice shift from 3 against 4 to 4/4. sounds like a dervish in the latter parts. great tune

1 pt Photonic - darksideofthemoog
excellent 70's prog/fusion feel. good song structure and nicely played.

also in the running:
Yeager - To Oslo And Back
great sounds here. very cinematic. good flow and development
Pulse Width Modulation - Pop-Collar Lover
80's synth pop lives again. masterful recreation of that sound.

So many great tracks. Took some time listening to them all again the last few evenings before voting. A lot of very interesting sounds going on here.

Anyway, I wish I could have voted for them all but rules are rules, so here's my 2 cents...

5 pts : cactoos - a.s.p.
Very lush, thought provoking with a strong melody.

4 pts : Photonic - darksideofthemoog
A really neat track from a technical standpoint.

3 pts : Irion Da Ronin - BEC 2 - Raising
Very intricate track mixing so many elements from past and present with impeccable production work.

2pts : Skyzone - Dream like mogue
So much like classic moog/synth music from the early days.

1 pts : dwringer - up tempo
Great chillout track goes through numerous changes and atmospheres.

Other tracks I wish I had more points to vote for :

Yeager - To Oslo And Back
Kraftraum - Rotation 6
Pulse Width Modulation - Pop-Collar Lover
z.prime - Far From Earth
Nikp2000-the creeper
AdagioCm - Moogxygene ( Part XLI )

Looking forward to the next competition

I'm affraid I didn't miss your point. It is just my point that no composition is better than use old composition. But quite interesting would be, I think, when you just add some new points to the old composition, you will evaluate the composition. You will show us something new in the track. This is definetly something interesting, don't you think?

I really don't know what to think about remixing/covering of an old track. In a way it's possible with the covers rule, but it seems a bit unfair to enter the voting on the same footing with original works having just changed the synth/patches on an old song.

Others?

I think most would recognize the reuse (it should be noted, per the rules) and quite possibly downvote due to it.

Though, I personally would opt for covers to be disallowed as well, which would avoid any ambiguity.

I agree with covers (remixes) being disallowed. IMHO, covers possibly could generate votes for a track based on element of familiarity.

That was the best song for me. Excellent track. Good luck in the current contest.

With so varying views on covers I guess it should really go to a vote, so will probably do that before next competition. With a rule vote it makes sense to include any other disputed points, so let me know if there are any. (best use the general discussion thread for that)

Hi all,

This time not only the musical aspect was the bigest factor to give points or not. In this OSC I heard some very good technical things, which influenced my voting.

5 points: Irion Da Ronin - Beautiful Electronic Creature Raising
Here I found a perfect combination between musicality and technical handcraft. So it was clear to me, who will be my favorit for this OSC.

4 points: Stonail - waiting for fadeout
When I heard this track the first time, I did not like it very much. It is just not the style I normaly listen too. But the more I listened to it, the more I realized the hugh technical work behind this track and the more I could enjoy all that gimmicks. Great work and a very respectable result!

3 points: Pulse Width Modulation - Pop-Collar Lover
Here it is easy to tell why a gave points. The song makes me smile and moving. A real feel good track. Thanks for that!

2 points: z.prime - Far From Earth
Very groovy, good bass and excellent drums for this synth.

1 point: skyzone - dream like mogue
Very driving begin. Nice melodies.

cheers,
Photonic
