At first I wasn't too taken by the sound but I'm warming up to it with some of these new audio demos. Looking forward to trying the plug-in demo.

Thanks for the info. Here is a gui where almost everyything is single png,aMUSEd wrote:To do that I think the gui would need to be vector based and it isn't. So yes, it probably would be. On the other hand I'm sure it's not beyond the realms of possibility for there to be other skins maybe some time in the future?glokraw wrote:You'd think Ichiro Toda has a death-grip patent onTeksonik wrote: The grey one's a bit too grungy and post apocalyptic for my taste. changing background and font colors by numeric value input
Could it really be that hard?
except the knobs, some text labels, and moveable controls

It was easy to edit a few bits that were a little too dark for easy reading.
Now that the brown oxium skin is posted, I like that one just fine.
Cheers

The performance bit interests me. I'm anticipating a DCAM/Alchemy like macro control fiesta!Echoes in the Attic wrote:At first I wasn't too taken by the sound but I'm warming up to it with some of these new audio demos. Looking forward to trying the plug-in demo.

I'll add new clips as they come. I try to make some in various genres so that people can see/hear different things but well ... these are only based on the presets made by the humble me.
But I just played tonight an HOT DubStep sequence made by Nori Ubukata

many thanks for mentioning this. This is one of my favorite sounds which i try to do on almost any synth but they sound slightly different on each synth.
I really like the version i have created with OXIUM now.

Basically the idea with the orange colour was from me as i first like that colour (also inspired by e.g. the Microwave XT hardware synth) and second it is very unusual. I also proposed to use a darker orange so that it is not too difficult for the eyes. Anyway at the time where i proposed this i never dreamed that it would make it into the final selection for the skins.Teksonik wrote:Or if you wanted to completely blow your eyes out.........![]()
*(Caution: Radioactive)*
I also mentioned that there should be at least one alternative skin which we got with the grey one.
I am sure there will be also more in future updates but i'm not sure about the first release.
Anyway i use the orange one as my default skin and in the "real" plugin it does not seem to be as worse (ergonomically) as some would expect (The colour in the screenshot in that post here seems to look a bit different from the real one and the real colour seems to be also a little bit darker than the one in the OP). Maybe it's just me who does not have problems with that skin but i hope some others will like it too. Like i already mentioned i hope there will be a few more choices in the future.
About changing the skin: At the moment in the menu there is an entry called "change skin" for this. To make this work you have to remove and re-insert the plugin. Maybe in a future version just re-opening the plugin will be enough.

We're working on it for one month now, and I'm 99% sure it will be present in the July 19th version ( the one with all the factory presets )4damind wrote:I miss in the feature list something like "Mono Legato"?
We're checking all the possible interactions with le Masque and the other advanced modulators, so that we're sure that all will go smoothly.
So in the 1.01 version there will be more than ten play modes.

About the skins : We might invest in an third "Iced" skin, the most easy possible for the eye, so especially one wich could be usefull for people with vision problems. Also maybe the Orange skin will be smooth enough for people to work with : Its probably a bit different with the real plug than with the Jpeg. Well, you'll tell us
I say invest on purpose, because please understand that this would come at a non neglectable cost ( Due to our graphic technologies, time of development to code skins, and the fact that our graphic artist is independant ) we'll first have to see if Oxium is at least .... a bit successfull. ( Crossing fingers )

Iced skin sounds good. I prefer lighter coloured skins because they stand out more and the controls are usually easier to read.Lotuzia wrote:About the skins : We might invest in an third "Iced" skin, the most easy possible for the eye, so especially one wich could be usefull for people with vision problems. Oh I like the orange skin but it's just not practical for long periods of viewing for me...just as I like a Ferrari but it's not practical to take to the lumberyard and load up with sheets of plywood....I'll use my truck for that.Ingonator wrote: Maybe it's just me who does not have problems with that skin but i hope some others will like it too. Maybe I'm just sensitive to certain colors when viewed for long periods.Red is the same way and I'd urge caution with the proposed Ice skin as a too bright white background would be just as harsh.

As I said in my PM I don't see how making a copy of the orange skin and then colorizing the few background pages would be that labor intensive. I could color all the background pages in just a matter of a few minutes. There's no need to create a whole new skin with new knobs, pages etc.Lotuzia wrote: I say invest on purpose, because please understand that this would come at a non neglectable cost ( Due to our graphic technologies, time of development to code skins, and the fact that our graphic artist is independant ) we'll first have to see if Oxium is at least .... a bit successfull. I've done this time and again with plugins that allow access to their graphics resource files (Rapture it the example I gave)and I'll gladly volunteer to do it for free with the Oxium background .pngs or .bmps. I can't imagine how much different Oxium's skinning system could be that it would require hours of work by a highly paid professional just to make a couple of color edits.
But if it can't be done then it can't be done.
