Working in the audio processing industry

Hey,

I recently graduated from McGill University with a B.Eng in Computer Engineering specializing in DSP. Now that I have a fancy piece of paper that says I'm worth something (and because living at home has become less than appealing in comparison to having my own place), I've decided to get a job. I was wondering if you guys had any tips on how to break into the industry, if there are any sites where I could find job postings, or if there were any technologies I should definitely be familiar with in order to help my marketability. Right now I'm currently developing my own VST plugin. I think that would help make me look better in the eyes of an employer and illustrate that I have a genuine interest in working in the field. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
