Q: AlphaCM outputs CC messages

I've noticed that AlphaCM outputs MIDI CC messages whenever the patch is changed or a knob / parameter is adjusted (and in Reaper 4, it outputs a continuous stream of CC messages for each parameter envelope).

Does this happen in the full Alpha 3 too?

Is this intended behaviour?

Its so with all our plugins; only when transmitting parameter changes a motorized controller can follow changes made in the instrument itself. We once planned to make this switchable, but as it turned out to be so cheap on CPU we not placed a switch in the setup section to deactivate it.
Is there any reason why you would like to suppress it ?

Thank you for the explanation.

I only spotted it when some subsequent plugins behaved unexpectedly. So I can get round that.

The continuous stream of CC messages when any of the parameters is set up as an Automation lane in Reaper 4 is odd - Reaper must be continuously sending VSTi automation messages into AlphaCM, I guess.

Yes, thats how it seems. Also, the MIDI sent _from_ a plugin should - in my opinion - only sent to other plugins when actively routed, not on default.
