Hi,

Fed EX just delivered Cubase 6.5 and my new Roland Quad Capture audio interface. Im trying to get the Virus TI to record onto an audio track as i play live.. i been away from Cubase a long while so im stuck.. any ideas?

I can play the midi and record ok but i wanna record what i play direct onto an audio track.. Im not sure if i have to connect the jacks from the Virus to the Roland interface and do it that way cause i can't seem to do it in the Virus Control

Help much appreciated.

You have to use an intermediate summing bus like PT. Send the instrument audio to a group (or any other summing bus like a dummy output) and use that input on an audio channel for recording the virtual instrument output in real time.

Instrument -> Group (or any summing bus)
Audio Channel with Group selected as input source
Record.

Damn it Lawrence i was on all night trying to do this with no joy

WOW but the new "Retrologue" synth is amazing haha i played on it all night i might even make a soundbank for this one.

The new Morph Filter is really cool too mate.

Errr but i think i might aswell have not but a Roland Quad Capture cause setting it to 192khz causes crackles when turning knobs on plugins. If i lower to 96khz then all is fine.

Ok all was good last night now i import audio loop from Media Bay and it's doubling up on tempo? What did i adjust?
One shot kicks imported sound like mickey mouse FFS

Ok i'll have to see what i did wrong.. all i adjusted was the Quad Capture from 44.1khz to 96khz hmm strange.

Just keep everything at 44.1 all the time otherwise you'll get samples speeding up or slowing down.

The only reason to go higher is to record audio, but probably not worth it for a Virus output.
