I've already started work on the missus - discussion got around to a mate's 50th birthday coming up and what his missus was going to buy him. Got around to what my missus should buy me for mine (not for a couple of years though...). Missus reckoned it's really difficult to buy me anything - so I educated her on all these wonderful analogue synth comapnies and showed her all the websites - she didn't baulk at things like the Telemark...
So if I leave her to buy me that one, then I can start saving some cash for one of those Tereshkova suitcase jobbies http://www.analoguesolutions.org.uk/concussor/tere.htm
Most of my gearlust has waned over the years, but those two definitely fired it up.
I played most of those demos for the Telemark - lovely fat squelches and some sounds that were way harder than I'd expected. Sounds like the sync sounds are right up my street. Nice.
I couldn't play any demos on the Studio Electronics site for those Boomstars - anyone got any linkies they know of (quite interested to hear what the 303 filter and the 4075 Arp filters sound like - was never much enamoured of Moog filters for some reason). Sounds like that AS xOxBOx thingy is pretty well a perfect 303 clone and the price is really quite acceptable IMO, but I don't really want another straight 303. I still like them, but now that there are choices for a bit more flexibility with 303 type sounds, the Boomstar looks far more interesting. If it's actually got a proper 303 filter, that is.
But yeah, really impressed with that Telemark - great that they give the option of keyboard and desktop too. I remember the Analogue Solutions people from eons ago before they even started up. Bought a couple of things off one of the guys. Looks like they've gone onto great things. The UK may be going tits-up, but I really do miss having all these creative synth type people so close by. There's bugger all this end of the world.
