Yes as I said it splits down the middle - but each half moves to its own side, it doesn't just move to the right. So if you, for example, use aftertouch on your keyboard it splits and moves to the right, if you move the modwheel it splits and moves to the left.jbuonacc wrote:i know how it works, but it's "broken". as breakmixer said, when you go to use it the "handle" graphic splits in half and it only moves to the right side.aMUSEd wrote:No it moves both sides - it functions as both mod wheel and expression in one dimension (hence the split) and pitchbend in the otherbreakmixer wrote:do you mean in the mod section, it cuts in half - only moving one side. just found that out...jbuonacc wrote:the joystick is broken.Lotuzia wrote:All comments welcomed

Overreact much? Crikey,I wonder what would have happened if I'd called you ugly?!*Lotuzia wrote:Youre right, hundreds of people think Le Masque is worth it. One of them expressed this in this thread btw. And the CM review says that "it might be the best 59€ you can spend this year" for "an extranordinary creative tool" or something like that. And I can imagine that the CM guys see a lot of plugs passing. But eventually less informed than some other people ( or better : We send them camels to pay for good reviews. How's that ?chuck death wrote:Another new Xils lab product, another overhyped piece by Lotuzia proclaiming everything is amazing/innovative/new... After the le Masque thread I'd hoped you'd learnt to hold back a little but clearly not.
Just once, I'd like to see you describe a product as though you are talking to a fellow human being instead of a sales target...)
Now I just visited a BIG dev site saying that they have a revolutionnary synthesizer ( revolution of two years ago ) and another one who claims they have the best analog synthesizers. You shoud visit the internet sometimes, its fully worth it.
OK, lets redo the pitch :
" Oxium is a more than average synthesizer, its sounds average, looks average, and the price is average ( well at least this is true )
It wont bring anything new to your sonic arsenal, and honnestly, arent you bored to demo synths that just dont bring anything new on the table ?
It has the same Le Masque Modulator that you can find on all synths, the same flower design for oscillators, the same boring 3rd generation zero-delay-feedback filters, self oscillating in all modes, that every feebie has, its cumulative waveforms oscillators you can find everywhere, and its unfortunately the same for the cumulative waveforms LFO. THe info pane wich give you a summary of all that happens in a patch has been seen for ages, and the vintage BBD Chorus is just an acceptable one. The double flexible filter structure could eventually be noticed but ........ etc etc.
And more than all that, their boring rep just spams our beloved forum, while pretending it can make some sound, and even not giving examples of that. Wich I see as totally dishonnest ........
This was an human speaking to humans"
Feel better now ?
I have nothing against Xils lab or you and I'm a potential customer but I get put off by reading your thread posts about Xils lab products and this makes me feel less inclined to buy.
I thought that might be worth mentioning to you... but I guess not, clearly criticism, no matter how well meant, is not something you take well!
I also said that I think Xils lab products often have great features but your hyping of every aspect means they get lost in the white noise. That was my way of suggesting to you that hype works best when you pick up on the key aspects... If everything is special, nothing is special.
What about any of that makes you think I am asking you to describe the product as an inferior pieces of crap?! Nothing... that was you belittling my suggestion by making it seem unreasonable. Not the nicest of tactics but I'm a big boy, I can take it!
I have never claimed Xils lab products aren't good, my only point was that I feel the hyping you do is over the top and I wish you would tone it down a little.
I really don't want to draw this out any more so I won't be commenting on this subject again. If you don't want to take my opinion on board that's, of course, entirely up to you!
Now, lets be nice about this and I'll see you all in the playground tomorrow.
* You're not, I'm sure you're beautiful!

changing background and font colors by numeric value input
Could it really be that hard?
I was hoping for something like this:
Yes it's horribly boring but this is the color I would choose for patch programming sessions that might be hours long. Very little eye strain. Then you could always switch back to the orange when using Oxium for composition.
But it is what it is........would be nice to have a wider choice of colors using the main non apocalyptic GUI.

This is the first time I try it, Wow, Very nicely done library of sounds. The filters resonate at highs good with about three notches, but they tend to jump quickly some times. I like that Vintage feature which seams to add some kind of width modulation, just like whats in the prophet.
Again, very musical library of patches. I can't hit a patch that I don't like!!, well almost.

I like the character of the Ana filter. Something about it.
I don't like the softglow on some of the knob labels. The rest of it I can live with. Definitely --no-- dozing off while spending long moments deep in sound design after work, due to the big orange face... like a Waldorf MWXT
How long is the introductory offer valid?
Edit: Nevermind. I see it's Aug 15. Nice.. I'll take that time with the demo.

Only those who have both synth can tell.4damind wrote:Is the Mouse-wheel support broken? (PC)
Btw. it's very CPU heavy also without Unison (IMO needs more resources than Diva).
I could run up to 6 instances ( Stepodrome ) without having to freeze any track on my antique Quad 9650. I had another try and could have up to 9 patches running simultaneously./
An average bass with one note polyphony takes about 5/6% on my 9650, and a 6 notes chords take around 11% when using only one filter (the main one)
If you use both filter the cpu will increase a bit, then each time you use the unisson, and/or very long release times the cpu will be higher. None of the patches currently included in the factory lib take more than 30M iirc ( and this is often for huge unisson stacks)/
Oxium always runs in HQ mode. There's no LQ mode.
For the mouse, please see the options menu.

Yes actually this time we added the visualisation of the Breath control + AFT mo,o + AFT Poly, this is why the joystick is divided in two : It show one one side the mod wheel, and on the opposite the Expression, wich is the sum of the above mentioned live controlers.jbuonacc wrote:ahh, i see, thanks for the explanation!aMUSEd wrote:Yes as I said it splits down the middle - but each half moves to its own side, it doesn't just move to the right. Biggest compliment we had regarding presets
The final Factory Library will include around 250 patches ( Available 19/21 July )
A good opportunity fot me to thank once again Nori Ubukata and Ingo Weidner for their beautiful patches.
Some other very talented guys are working hard atmfor the full factory library content .
And of course it will include more patches by Nori ad Ingo !

Yes, that's why I wrote it needs more CPU than Diva.Lotuzia wrote:Only those who have both synth can tell.
Have not found something, but if there is a option why is mousewheel support disabled per default? For the mouse, please see the options menu.
I think the basic idea of this synth is ok but the algorithms needing some optimization. Some small stuff like the mousewheel should be solved. Presets are ok but they showing not much potential of this synth. Eventually this will change if some professional sound designers providing some stuff (hello BT)
It's not some of this synth where I would say "wow" but maybe some users find it more useful.

Yes the non professional sound designers we have on board have only powered dozens of hardware and softwarr factory libraries synthesizers for minor companies like KOrg, Yamaha, Waldorf, Camel Audio, Native instruments, Tone 2, Arturia, etc etc ......4damind wrote:Yes, that's why I wrote it needs more CPU than Diva.Lotuzia wrote:Only those who have both synth can tell.

Your welcome, and good workLotuzia wrote: Wow thanks a lot SOlo

The filter is good, but I think it can be improved further. comparing it with diva and saurus in a spectrum analyzer, the harmonics (on those 2 synths) tend to thicken a bit around the cutoff frequency and the 2 notches that follow it when the resonance is very high and don't peak (self resonate) quickly. While in Oxium the peaking happens quicker. Not saying it's bad, just different, infact many people might like it this way.
May be, another 3rd type of LP in future versions.

I'm not crazy about the color schemes or the UI really, I need to play with it a lot more though. I would really like some other more clean themes, maybe make a 'Studio One' grey theme for me?
I like things a little subdued. Anyhow the discount is tempting and I appreciate the time before it goes to normal price to decide. So far it sounds good. CPU is pretty high though.

I finally got my hands on the demo afer salivating all day. So far I'm fairly impressed. The grid is a little fiddly and I'd love to see note value readouts when adjusting the values.
I guess it was about a half an hour or so after starting the demo and I got a white noise sound that one usually finds as a demo limitation and a couple of nasty pops....then a few seconds later Oxium just locked up and I had to unload it....(Orion Win XP 32 bit). Not a CPU issue it just seemed to time out. I know it's supposed to be a no time limit demo so I'll keep my eye open and see if it happens again.....back to the demo......
