Which one of these limiters you would pick up and why? Discuss only these 4, thank you!

I used to own Elephant, and I cannot fault it, the only reason I parted company with it was I now have another limiter that is as good as it, and it was part of a bundle, so I needed some cash and sold Elephant.

I'd recommend Elephant here hands down.

I love barricade. It's easy to use, sounds good if not abused (I think you shouldn't anyway with limiters...), metering is perfect and... It's cheap!

They're all nice.
I would only add:
FG-X doesn't always work well on softer material.
Pro-L is very transparent but a bit overpriced imo.
Barricade is great, not as transparent as Pro-L.
While Voxengo's Ele is fantastic too I find I no longer use it & prefer using the previous ones mentioned instead.

-p.S. I no longer use Ozone at all anymore, the limiter was also nice & the best feature in it.

Barricade can be misleading because it has built-in saturation. I think Pro-L and Elephant sound clearer / punchier / more transparent. However, for the price it's the best option. If you have enough funds I'd recommend Pro-L or Elephant.

I don't agree based on the quality in transparent mode (the others are, well, less transparent, and pickier about what they can be used on). I've found after a lot of testing that it is essentially a pro quality mastering grade limiter, and I prefer the sound of it to either Elephant or Barricade.

None of Fab Filter's products are really overpriced by the standards of what many other high-end plug-ins go for.

Fabfilter stuff is so good I don't know why everybody else doesn't just give up.

Yea, look at UAD and Softube, Brainworx, Flux (!!!). There are a lot of companies that generally charge more than FF when FF delivers comparable quality (with their own sound and with their own line, of course---they don't do emulations like some of the others).

Pro-L. Then there are others I have and sometimes use also but Pro-L out of the limited selection

Been loving Limiter Number Six by vladg/sounds alot and it costs now't; Highly recommended for any money IMveryhumbleHO

Invisible Limiter WAS worth a look but:

The free version has a crude interface with a meter that either tells you nothing or doesn't work at all. Very program dependent but it really does give "invisible" results on some things, and it was free, but is no longer available.

The pay version looks much, much better, and is only $39, but the demo link has been broken intentionally and there is now no support offered after the sale.

FG-X it's a complete mastering suite in one plugin that can make the mix louder without making it sound worse very transparent.

Very subtle transparent compressor, limiter, loudness maximiser, dither and a nice RMS and peak meter. It looks really nice on the screen that adds a lot of fun for me.

I don't smash my tracks so all I use a limiter for is make sure no nasty peaks. Any of those will do fine for this.
