Live already has this.

I shudder to say this (and I think this may be the beginning of a long and new trend, so you will all blame me...)

But I think "Normad" may be destined to become the new....

The marketing for this product is pretty piss-poor. 'Groundbreaking' and 'revolutionary' are the terms I remember. Yet not a single proof of any of those claims. I see the words, but no justification even attempted.

That said, I think a simple modulation system would have brought something to the table in comparison with guitar rig. It will be pretty annoying to do all modulation via the host.

And the various routing options; whatever. They should have made it truly flexible, being able to route any module in the rack wherever you want. Combined with a (missing) modulation system, it may have been pretty 'groundbreaking' for a rack-based system.

Half-baked, but with potential is my final judgement on magma. I think Nomad realise that, hence their promise about vst support. I never invest based on promises, esp. with the support I had from nomad regarding their stupid authorization system (with I see Magma doesn't use, hmmm).

All that and AFAIK Normad is behind those Don't Crack plug-in suites (which are pretty decent, don't get me wrong) so I'm not going out on a limb to say many or most of these may be reskins of those (that now look like rack units, ooooo).

I don't know what all the routing magic is that can supposedly be done with this (maybe along the lines of a Reason type of environment was their goal) but one of the marketing hype things that put me off was the sense that there is something revolutionary about being able to chain effects and route them in lots of different and flexible ways. Maybe I'm missing something but I thought that was one of the key features of every DAW on the market today.

Hmmm I pointed out the GUI flicker issue that occurs in FL Studio that only occurs (here at least) with Synthmaker plugins. I sent a support e-mail to Nomad flat out asking if they used SM but in their response they did not deny it.........but simply asked what version of FL.....I never heard from them again.

I can't imagine Nomad used Sm for Magma but like I said I've only ever noticed the gui flicker (while the Magma gui is under an open drop down menu) with SynthMaker plugins.........

UPDATE: I received an e-mail from Nomad today confirming they did not use SynthMaker........still the gui flicker issue remains.

The fact that Magma as well as all the other Nomad plugs are available in 64 bit rules out SM.

They also work on Mac so obviously not SM
