Raw PCM? why not just a regular wav file or mp3?

Post

OK, a question here about the rule:

"... Of course you can also use the synthesizers from various members."

does it mean i can only use the RAW PCM from the synth or the sound they make as a VST ?

I just want to make sure...

vitD ... you need to import the .dll as raw pcm ... process it as much as you need ... export to whatever format you need to add it to your track ...

import the dll? uhhh... so we wouldnt be using the plugins in the normal sense of midi and stuff.. but more importing them as raw data and seeing what weird screeching sound comes out of the editor as it tries to intrepret the plugin as as ound?

Post

lex - i read it as using any smartelectron!x synths in their usual way ...

... of course - if you use any sample-playing instruments (like slifty) then the samples have to come from processed .dll files

bram ... JUST the .dll files or any other files that come with the installation (like .txt or .pdf or .fxb) too ???

yeah - use them like that too ... just that ALL sound sources in terms of samples and / or synths MUST come from a smartelectron!x product and all effects used must be smartelectron!x too

yup - cool huh ???

of course - you can then chop / mangle / process this screech how you like

bram - i hope im right in all this ???

Process dll, txt :-o . What does that mean ?
Anyway there is .wav files in the Galactix, and such could be used i guess.

there's a good enough explanation AND examples on the site guys, read it!!!

For example:

I can do 'normally sequenced' music with Smart Electronix products, use samples from Smart Electronix's generators and/or the binaries as raw data and probably run all those trough Smart Electronix's effects again ... etc. !?

To sum it up ... i can use ALL sounds i can squeeze out of Smart Electronix (plus some basic editing in an audio editor of choice) !?

I was at that page before my initial post :P

to an uberprogrammer like you it might be easy and understandable.. but some simple 'what you can do' or what not to do type rules would be helpful

can: blah blah

cannot: blahh blub blah blah

like that :P

Post

nm I read it a few more times .. and it finally sunk in..

we can use the plugins both as raw data material as well as normal vsti sound sources..

:)

now I have to figure out how im going to get some realistic drums in there.. :D

Post

this certainly looks interesting!
thank you folks for the challenge
