By the way. Has anybody mentioned that you get JamPoints when you register this gear at IK Multimedia? I was very pleasantly surprised with what I got.

You did!
I had the same experience with the CSR reverb, you spend $49 and get the jampoints for the full msrp. VERY nice... Just wish they didn't expire. I'm losing some this month I'd SO use on ST3!
Also, if you buy thru eSoundz, you get epointz on top of 'em AND a free Xpansion library.
Some days I wish I didn't own it all already!
Lastly, thanks to all the folks who have kindly referred me at checkout there. I truly appreciate it!

Wow - I did not know that $25.00! So it like I paid $4.99 for a $229.00 synth(s).Aloysius wrote:By the way. Has anybody mentioned that you get JamPoints when you register this gear at IK Multimedia? I was very pleasantly surprised with what I got.
That is what I would basically call an insane deal!!!!

I noticed what you mentioned on the 2002 MiniMoog Voyager "Dying Lead 02". Definitely keeps one out of the upper registers. I hope I don't run into too much of this. Still most of the presets sound sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!maxxxter wrote:most patches suffer from horrible sounding aliasing in upper octaves, which, IMO, renders the whole thing useless.

I saddly think i need before i need more sounds... and d-50 type synthsounds are maybe nice i think...Xenobt wrote:As I've mentioned earlier, JPQ, the Film Orchestra titles are actually the Cinematik Xpansion Tank split into two libraries.JPQ wrote:I must look again these Film Orchestra vol 1. type stuff.
Film Orch Vol. I is mostly D-50 style synth and orch sounds, and Vol II is more sound-design driven, with sound effects sampled into some patches, (which some folks love and others loathe) and other cool things you'll use very rarely.
There are a few exceptions in each volume, like the lovely Shawshank orchestra patch in Vol. II, but generally it's broken down as above. And by choosing Cinematik, you get both for your free eSoundz choice!
Remember, you only get the Xpansion Tank bonus by buying at eSoundz.com. Why wouldn't you?!![]()

ps. but i listen again esoundz stuff someday soon there is maybe few accetable gems (In film orchestra these flute etc sounds nice idea even still sampletank engine is very limited) to my needs and how much depends how my money situation goes.... Only problem is i have some weirdly working patches in Ik multimedia total workstatiomn 2 which reduces my trust how well sampletank enigne works becouse i think when i tested vst version of sampletank works fine but au dont. Another user what i asked have same patches but they work fine and he also uses au version.

When I had the sound sets installed on my HDD it does take a bit to load, but since moving my sound library to a SSD the patches and combis load super fast. If it is an issue you think is beyond the HDD speed try our support and we'll do what we can to help you out.Aloysius wrote:Hi Xenobt. Do you think there is some problem with my SampleMoog install? It takes a long time to load any of the SampleMoog Combi's on my System. In fact, my system has hung in stand alone mode a few times already. I installed to the default location for windows (7) and I've gone through the relist thing etc.
I don't have these problems with 'SampleTank 2 XL' or 'SonikSynth 2' but I guess SampleMoog uses a lot of samples.
Thanks ...

Ok. Maybe I can give that a try later on. I haven't actually had a chance to muck about with it today.
I've re-downloaded everything as well, so I'll have plenty of things to try.
Thanks for the great deal esoundz/IKMM peeps. I may be having a few teething problems but all in all, this is a super deal!

I think the trick here is to use the synths that are already sampled in the octave you intend to use.Integratron wrote:I noticed what you mentioned on the 2002 MiniMoog Voyager "Dying Lead 02". Click the Zone button on the lower right of the ST or SampleMoog UI, and as you play the keyboard, you can see the key-mapping for each sample. Ones on the far ends of the keyboard DO end up getting more notes than those in the middle octaves.
Like the beat-sync on their loop sets, when you get a half an octave or so away from the original pitch/tempo, results can get a bit lo-fi. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

You always have great advice when it comes to IK's workstations! It really is about staying in the range that the original instrument was intended for. That's how I can always spot when people use fake horns. A lot of times I can hear them played in an unnaturally high octave. Its easier to get away with when you're talking about synths though. Plus you can layer a few different Moogs for a thicker sound.Xenobt wrote:I think the trick here is to use the synths that are already sampled in the octave you intend to use.Integratron wrote:I noticed what you mentioned on the 2002 MiniMoog Voyager "Dying Lead 02". My preconception of the Moog sound is "fatness", but the SampleMoog sounds rather thin
Presets like Little Phatty->Fat Saw sounds nothing like that, more like a cheap flute.
Samples seems only to be properly done in the lower ranges. Trying Modular Spring Bass in the c2-c3 range sounds like a cheap guitar
Need to put in through something like the Etch filter to fatten up the sound

Thanks Obik! I've learned a lot from folks like you, torgo and DarkStar here, and try to do the same when I can.ObiK wrote: You always have great advice when it comes to IK's workstations!
I really love my IK stuff and think you guys were the first to break the price/performance barrier with nearly everything you've put out. Your Krazy Deals, group buys and x for 1 sales for things like Amplitube, T-Racks, CSR and VIs are putting pro level tools into the hands of folks that could otherwise never afford them.
I think you've forced other companies like NI and Waves to respond in kind, and that helps people who don't even USE your products. Poor devils!
And I know I bang this drum a lot here, but have you tried the Tone Control on SampleMoog yet, Numanoid? It's used in the training video here, and gives a good idea of what it does. It's around 2:00:
#!
Obik hipped me up to this one, and I literally use it all the time on separate Parts or Master FX slots to put some junk in the trunk and make everything bigger, fatter, and more polished.
It's a bit loud when you instantiate it, but by lowering the Gain to 1.5 or 2 to get back to pre-effect level, it'll give you a tube pre/eq combo that is VERY nice, especially on basses and drums of all kinds. I like Tube 3 for its midrange scoop, but try the others too.
Finally, don't forget that eSoundz.com will give you a FREE Xpansion Tank of your choice if you buy there, that will run in Sampletank Free. So really, it's like getting the Tank for $20 off MSRP and SampleMoog for nothing. Krazy!

Hey waltercruz, THANKS!
And to the other folks who have kindly gifted me epointz, it is MUCH appreciated!
Have you sent your request to Allen at eSoundz yet? I think that's how it's working on the last two Krazy deals.
I've gotten service on weekends and over holidays(!), but if you haven't gotten it by tomorrow, hit him again, he's probably (hopefully for them) got lots of requests.
