That's why I almost always listen to anything in my headphones.
She's okay with sound coming out of Mark's computer.Mine try to eat my toes off

Price, bulkiness, and that I don't have a bunch of friends with kick ass amps for me to model. I know, there are more than enough available.Unfocused wrote:Here's the thing--I know I don't need one. I'm actually quite happy with my current amp. It would be a fun, albeit expensive, toy for me, as I can truly get by on what I have now.hibidy wrote:I was sold on one but after re-thinking it, not sure.Unfocused wrote:Kemper profiling amp
So, what made you re-think it? You seemed to be in a froth about it for a while. Heck, you were one of the guys who brought it to my attention as something I may seriously want to get someday.

I get good sound from my sims. They are neat, tidy, and don't require an extra socket to plug in
Not saying I'll never get one

First off, I need to say that I'm not looking to buy any more Instruments, other than maybe Reaktor and Scarby MM Bass or OTS Cherry Bass, so I'm not fishing for ideas for instruments to buy. I have what I have, and I'm extremely happy with what I have.
What are your favorites?
Me:
Zebra2 (I sold my Alchemy for it!)
Alchemy (finally bought it again!)
Padshop
Retrologue
I have a few others that I use (like OTS Jaco and SD2), but those are my favorites of what I have, and I don't feel the need to buy any new instruments. Not even Omnisphere.(Actually, Trilian kinda turmed me off of Spectrasonics. I thought it would be much more complete bass guitar-wise (any-interval slides and a better 8-string).)
Please don't shoot me.
I'm including Softsynths and Sample Libraries in this.
I was looking for a thread, or looking to start a new thread, with a bit of 'aggro' for the new Fruity Loops yard sale:
http://www.image-line.com/documents/new ... 1340159234
Now, nothing against mr. Image-Line and the fine sale they purvey to new buyers of their wonders, but...
Look. I have it all. I have so much, I don't know wtf to do with it.
If it would be possible to do a sale for (still) addicts like me for a 'tenner', say
My mother won't talk to me. I convinced her last month, that she did not, in fact, need that new faux leatherette three piece suite to impress her new neighbours. She said: "Ok, Son, you can take it". So I did. And do you know what I did with the money? I am almost ashamed to say here, but I will anyway:
I spent it on VST'S. Please excuse the bakers apostrophe. Or butcher's apprentice....
Anyway, back to the question. I have Gross Beat. F***ed if I know how to use it.
I have Harmless. But don't tell anyone that. If it ain't Harmor, people cross the street so they don't have to talk to you any more.
And Sytrus? You might as well have a clapped out ford cortina mkII 1.6GHz to contend with. Some people just don't know they are born.
I am probably not the best person to ask. But it has been fun answering you all the same.
Do you want to buy some VSTs. I have very good reference!

I've been slowing down, out of necessity and a little bit of self-awareness, but sometimes a cool synth will still catch my ear or my interest.
Never really liked "arsenal" in this context. Makes it sound like people are firing salvos into the world from their little forts. Not sure what would be better, though. "Magic kit"? "Sonic apparatus"?

You will buy more than you will ever need, and deep inside you already know it. At this point there is no turning back.

I've only done that once, and I spent a little less.
But I'm going to be buying Warmverb again eventually, and I'll have to buy it new (I originally bought it as part of the effects pack, and I didn't need the others, so I sold them (they all had to go together).
Until Tone2 decides to change their policies, no one wants to sell Warmverb alone used.

I'm happy with my setup, I may buy some new things but I don't feel any urgence (except for a second screen, which I'll buy soon).
I recently bought a new mac (my old macbook isn't fast enough for making music) with the resolution of making a stable setup with what I currently have (maybe with a few addictions) and then not changing it for years, so I could concentrate on making music with a reliable system instead of dedicating myself to gears...
I have just to consolidate a bit my workflow, then there's nothing that could stop me from making music...
... nothing except Worms (you know, my old macbook isn't fast enough for it, but the new mac is...

I want a Fender Strat...
But talking about software... Just one thing comes to my mind: Edison VST. Can be very handy use it in other DAW than FL.
Ok, I think about Korg M1 and Wavestation too...

But I feel pretty satisfied with the stuff I have now.
I use Dimension Pro in a regular basis, and the FL studio Basic stuff (3xOsc, BooBass, FPC, Reeverb 2...)
And Charlatan! I love Charlatan!
