What is in your opinion the best Arturia analog classics emulation?

Post

Wot no fish?

Probably the best emulation imo is their SEM, but my favourite is probably Jupiter.

Post

In reality, I wonder how many users have owned or used the original hardware synths. That would be an interesting poll.

Post

yeah, to vote, one would need to know all the Original synths and all the Arturia Emulations.

Post

None.

Post

The mod v by far for me.

Don't they all sound the same? Seriously.

"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

I have most of them, but the SEM is my favourite. Many of the Arturia synths sound great but I find the interfaces lacking. The Jupiter 8, CS80V and Prophet V all have really fiddly controls, which let them down. I personally would like an alternate GUI option on many of their products where they lose the on-screen keyboard and use the space to allow for larger controls.

My latest track uses Jupiter 8, Oberheim SEM, MiniMoog Original and SparkVDM (plus Audjoo Helix for the lead sound and a smidgen of Omnisphere at the end) - it's another Jean Michel Jarre-inspired track.

Pretty much. SEM is so far away from an actual SEM it's ridiculous. Not to mention Mini.

They are all virtual analogues, but they each have their own sounds and architectures. I'm sure Vince Clarke could make every sound he ever needs with one modular system, but that doesn't stop him from collecting a multitude of synthesizers.

I'm not a skilled soundsmith and tend to use presets with a little tweaking, so the more tools I have, the larger my palette is. Besides, it was fun to put together a track using just one instance of each instrument - just like if I'd been loaded with money 25 years ago and without a multitrack recorder...

Where is the "none of the above" option?

I think their Prophet VS model is decent. And it's purdy.

And if their interfaces are lacking, that would mostly be because the interfaces on the hardware are lacking.

Well, without frankly disagreeing the best would be to have ALSO an Arturia's emulations user's opinion ?

As said in frensh : un autre son de cloche...

How about an andrew71 inspired track?
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Used them, then played real things. Arturia's "emulations" are a far cry.
