Hi there are 62 patches atm + more than 10 init patches.mcnoone wrote:Hi. I only see 3 authors for presets. About 50 something presets.
Are there any more somewhere, that I missed?
The version 1.0, wich is due around July 19/21th wil include around 250 presets made by more Sound Designers.
Maybe we should make that more clear on the site.

I'd like to donate whatever patches I can come up with before the release, if that's possible. Maybe I can send them in later next week, for evaluation...or like that.
Take care.
BTW...Really liking this synth more all the time.

Good Evening!
A few more things:
Nice that ALL Envs are DADSR
Odd but cool function: "...A right click will change the state only while the button is pressed, and return to the previous state when it is released."
I suppose some funky performance things are possible with that.
Manual questions:
"...The VCO2 only modulation option is very helpful for Synced sounds. Try it with the mod wheel while the OSC 2 sync is engaged."
I do not see "VCO2 Only" mod destination? What was meant by that part of the manual?
Also, I noticed that when I am browsing the presets, some of the presets have the MW routed to certain mod destinations (normal) however it would seem that the MW is also somehow assigned via MIDI CC to the Filter Mix fader down in the OSC Mixer module. When I move the MW, the Filter Mix fader moves with it. I did have not assigned this this way. It is automatically assigned on some Oxium presets. When I try to remove the assignment of the control (MIDI UNlearn) it does not release control of the fader. How should I proceed to delete the MIDI CC assignment from the MW of that fader? I see there is an option for MIDI LEARN but I do not see an option to delete MIDI CC assignments (Unlearn).
Also, shouldn't Tremelo, Auto-Wha and Vibrato amount have some kind of mod destination in the matrix? I mean perhaps one would like to program Auto-Wha into a patch using a certain LFO which is already used to modulate another destination HOWEVER it could be nice to gradually increase the amount of the Auto-Wha or Vibrato with AT, MW or PB or some other source instead WITHOUT having to affect the Amount/Level of the actual LFO which is modulating them. Good to be able to modulate those levels (Amounts) independently by midi controller or other mod sources.
Last but not least, Can we please have the 3 Envelopes' Delay stages available as Mod destinations in the near future? But it's nice that you allow us to automate them in the host at least.

Synced sounds : Use sync between oscillators. So the trick is to maodulate Oscillator 2 potch (or frequency) when the sync is on. Listen to a few of the sync lead that are included in the current subset of the factory library and you'll get the feeling at once. Oxium Sync is really nice.
For the MW assigned to the mixer fader ( filter mix level) the only possible reason if that you have assigned it by error. The easiest solution is : Assign it a another midi controler, wich will replace the current value.
A clear all midi assignations might not be a bad thing however, or eventually a Midi Unlearn wich would be the most flexivle solution.
Vibrato, autowha, tremoloe are semihardwired. For two reasons :
1/ Just tyrning one knob for beginners for these very important and basic musical gestures. 2/ If you hear the Bibrato in a patch and want to change the settings, you directly go to LFO1, wich is default for LFO. gain of time.3/ This saves modulation slots
This said you can change the LFO for musical gestures by clicking on the label abice them, so you can use LFO2 for Vibraro AND tremoloe AND Autowha, and you can also use these LFOs as source in the mod matrix to perform any task you want.
Last to modulate gradually the OUTPUT ( or LEVEL ) of an LFO with the mod wheel for example, just assign the LFO LEVEL to the mod wheel (or any other modulator ) This is why you have tow semiharwired destinations for the mod wheel, and the other real time modulators like velocity : Its just faster, and here again it saves some freely assignable modulation slots/pairs.
Now you have three LFOs in Oxium, if well uts true you have to manage them and distribute the differents tasks to them.
Dsync as target : We'll see. I can see potential click/pops problems with this one.

We hear you :
Beat 0.92 now incorporates a Relative LINK mode for the Delay left and right time
How it works : ALT Key + Clicking on one delay knob will now move both delay time in parallel
How to make a simple LINK mode :
1/ Use first Ctrl + Click to return both knowbs to default value.
2/ Then use ALT + Click on one knob to set both delay times simulatneously while turning only one Knob.
We think the mode we implemented is the most flexible, even if it's not the most simple. You can now get some nice and sophisticated stereo feeling without to much hassle/

We have just released Oxium V 0.92 , and the demos installers have been updated.
It's very hard for us to believe it, but V .92 seems, at first sight, bug free !
Well, we're sure some people will eventually find a little one here or there, but atm, we can't see one left behind. Its almost weird tbh
SOo :
Version History :
V9.1
Fixed :
_ Demo label wasn't displayed on the 64 bits mac version
_ Grey Skin : "S" on information label removed
_ More precision for fine tune values : VERY fine tuning available ( one digit ) (With Shift Key modifier ) ( feature )
_ Using "Init Settings with Current Settings" in Option menu, Oxium is now launched with your preferred sorting rules. ( Feature )
_ Popup Stereo/Pan : Now displayed as centered values (L, %L, C, %R, R)(was 1/100)
_ Mixer faders positions ( Graphic) are now correctly updated when preset is
launched
_ First launch : No sound ! in some cases, loading one preset was needed to get the sound back
_ First launch : Audio engine broken on some systems/daws, relaunching the plug-in was needed, more rarely the DAW.
_ Destinations menu : sub menus ( Tree view ) implemented. Hierarchy of destinations refined. ( Feature )
_ Chorus Fx : Unwanted distortion in some cases.
_ Pitch bend position is no more saved within the preset ( it could make some instruments sound out of tune when loaded until the Pbend was touched )
_ Some labels changed ( Thanks to all for your help in correcting all that )
V 9.2
_ Manual : updated and proofread
_ Alt+click : delay left and right linked ( Relative mode similar to gang mode for the faders )( Feature )
_ Gain EQ : incorrect value between - 3.0 and 0
_ Gracious Plops when Stereo/Pan toggle button was clicked. Fixed
_ Banks import/export function not working on Windows7 64b on some systems
_ If le Masque was in "Free" mode, sometimes it would not start when a preset using this mode was launched. Now always works. ( A tough one )
_ Improved Le Masque Handling. Fine tuning of locators etc.
_ Chorus rate Extreme Modulation crash fixed.
You can DL the new installers here for the demo.
http://www.xils-lab.com/pages/Oxium_Che ... -demo.html
Oxium users can DL the V 0.92 at the usual place.
Thanks for reading,

Great! I find several things being fixed that i had noticed before but not thought much of. Glad to see them squished!
The EQ at end, would it be possible to add them to the modulation matrix in the future? At least the cutoff would give a lot of extra sonic options!
In the menu, a link to the manual would be cool, for those emergency "what does this do?!" situations

And thanks to all people who helped us to eradicate the bugs, and improve Oxium, and first our glorious and dedicated beta team and all the sound designers, while not forgetting all the people on this or other forums.
I'll add the FR on the pile for the EQ and manual, and we'll consider them.
Note : The Manual can be found in your Xils Folder where Oxium is installed, or on Xils site, in case you're a migrant musician visiting a foreign studio for example, and if they have lost/erased it.

The 2nd oscillator starts at 0.018 semitones in the initial patch just so you know. Knob changes were a very good idea. Looking forward to trying it out!

For me this is a very good-sounding synth with a refreshingly easy-to-use design (though I still have to get my mind around le Masque). I purchased it a couple of days ago and I'm enjoying it a lot.
Here are a few small bugs I noticed in version 0.92:
1. If I have a preset loaded with "information" window showing and I then load a new preset that happens to open with the "information" window showing (for example, BA Heavy Rubber LtZ), the text in the "information" window does not update automatically when the new preset loads. Instead I have to separately press the information button after the new preset opens to make the text for the new preset replace the text for the previously loaded preset. Not a big deal but hopefully this can be fixed in the final version.
2. When I reopen the synth after using the "change skin" command, the bottom part of the background gui panel (on the left where the xils logo is and on the lower right side of the same panel) doesn't redraw but instead there is black space. Again, this is not a big deal because pressing one of the "keyboard/effects/information" buttons makes the lower part of the background panel redraw and fill in correctly. But it would be nice if this could be fixed. Please note that this happens to me only when I load the synth in savihost x64 for quasi-"standalone" programming and testing (for the record I use a Sony laptop running Win7 x64). In my main DAW (Sonar X1 x64), the Oxium gui redraws correctly when I change skins, so maybe this is a savihost problem and not an Oxium problem. (It would be nice, though, not to have to delete the synth in the DAW and then reopen it just to change skins, assuming that was feasible from a programming standpoint.)
3. In the "Feeling" menu there are two "Extreme Modulation" categories (the first one has an upper case "M" beginning the word "modulation" and the second has a lower case "m" beginning the word modulation). I'm guessing the presets in these categories need to be retagged with the same capitalization so these two categories will combine into one.
4. On the modulation pane, I would change the spelling of "AUTOWHA" to "AUTOWAH" -- which I think is the more common spelling for a wah-wah effect. (The Oxium v0.92 Manual actually spells it both ways in different places, so one way or another this should be corrected and made consistent.)
5. The manual (the version distributed with 0.92) also still has other small typos needing correction.
I hope this helps. As I said I am really enjoying this synth and wish the developers a big success with it.
