Check out Sylenth1 though.
Dunno, if THOSE artists use it, but this synth definetly makes THAT sound (and comes with loads of presets).

This plugin is getting kind of long in the tooth, isn't it? Does the latest release include the right filter? I don't buy or update any plugin that doesn't have the right filter. Without the right filter, soft-synths just sound all plasticky and fake.mcnoone wrote:Doug1978(tempID) wrote:4damind wrote:Bronto Scorpio wrote:ZenPunkHippy wrote:deastman wrote:Honestly, there isn't some magic synth that "pros" use which separates them from us mere mortals. Everyone has preferences when it comes to instruments, but unless you're looking for some specific gimmicky signature sound, you really don't need a certain synth to make a certain type of music. The emphasis should really be on learning about sound design, developing your playing technique and compositional skills, learning to mix and master properly, and most importantly, imbuing the music with your own unique aesthetic sensibilities rather than trying to copy someone else's sound. Just my two cents.
In all honesty Michael, the advice by deastman is spot on.
Though if I had to narrow your quoted producers down to at least one particular instrument, I'd probably say that they use this plug in
In fact, that's one thing that separates the pros, they know how to use the right filter.

It has a special "Pro mode" button. When you turn it on, the sound quality increases by 15.4%. It uses a lot of CPU and RAM, though, but pros can afford the best equipment.Herakhless wrote:really? You got wrong information. It is not any synth that makes pros sound so pro. It is Secret Pro maximizer/warmifier/exiter effect plugin you put in to master channel. There are two presets. First is preset "pro" which makes everything sound at least 104,2 % better. For additional 2500 dollars you can buy preset "Ultra Pro" which makes sound even 257,3 % better and is guaranteed to make chart topper.Torchlight wrote:It has a special "Pro mode" button.
