What, you didn't get yours yet?

And looking at the BitWig video you can show the mixer by a button on the bottom left but then you need to move to the opposite right for further mixer view options. That's inconsistent for a good workflow and it's a very freaking basic one!
Not sure I follow. I'll have a look at it again and try to see what you are saying.....
Yeah, I'm still not following. But a) I can't see the standard "youtube" clip very well and if I b) expand it I get a lot of clutter. So......

hibidy wrote:The thing that looks different to me is better switching from session to arrangement. Now, my last version of live was 6 so maybe it's changed but it twas a PITA trying to go between the two last time I tried.
TAB...
No no no, I don't mean switching from one to the other  I meant working in one or the other

I always found the arrangement view to be horrible. Ymmv
To me is not that bad. I don't like the track headings on the right.
The session view is the main reason for me to use Live as of now.
S1 better for me, but I'm back in Reaper letely and it's not so alien to me as much as before. Not there yet though, but.... slowly....

About the video, is when they show the mixer and then expand different sections from the left side buttons....
On large monitors or laptops without mouse it's going to be a pain. Probably sorthcuts but still....
I have obsessions with GUI workflow.

It was in one of the 4 videos we got in the emails (7 of them!!!!)
I think they are also running a beta test for the email client :hihi:

Here at 2:13 and then at 2:17 on....

No big deal, but a little pebble in the shoe.

well, again my recollection of live was it wasn't that flexible, but if I'm wrong........

Christ, after yesterday I'm really bummed. I won't be able to afford to go at this price. (I mean, I CAN afford it but I "can't" afford it....hard to explain)

But hosts hate me. ALL HOSTS hate me. Plug ins love me  I have so many vst's that work exactly as advertised......but hosts.......they will be the death of me

Ok, I'm just ranting now........sorry.

I got the "announcement" but of course not an invite. Kinda bummed even though I don't really want to get into it  It's like "you are not good enough, but stay tuned........"

It's apparently pronounced BitVig. Which sounds slightly less absurd.

Another big thing for me as a Live Suite owner is that the instruments and effects in Bitvig look basic to say the least - which makes *that* price tag faintly ridiculous too.

I can't imagine losing Operator, the AAS stuff, and a bunch of Ablton's effects, several of which are plain awesome and are used in all my tracks.

was that price confirmed? 300 pounds?

Sampler is "The Thing" for me. I can just make an entire track with it. Very unique.
You're right.about the suite. Expensive but in the long run, very useful and sufficient for most tasks.

I received an official response from Bitwig on the lack of support for AU.

"We're a small but passionate team and for the version 1.0 we're currently concentrating on the very basic features that are the same on all three operating systems. AudioUnits only exist on OSX and nearly every AudioUnit plugin is also available as VST, so we decided to spend the development time on other more important features for now. But we're thinking about adding AU support later down the road."

I can respect their answer and look forward to what comes down the road in later version.
