maybe I am the only one. I don't even know what that means..what is the voice grid? Searching the manual alas didnt' help

We're talking Zebra.... it's the module matrix in the center of the Synthesis page :)
that was my initial guess......I guess I will see it when you release it, but it already has compressor modules available...no?
rsp

edit: my bad......compressor modules aren't available in the main grid, currently.

Page 13 "Main Grid". Urs calls it the "Voice Grid" because anything in there is per-voice - probably a better name!
ah... thanks Howard

I reckon you have put some of Diva's filters into Zebra at HZ's request as well as cloning his minimoog's filters and oscillators :)

Is Z3 a free upgrade by any chance?
Or is there a grace period?

fingers crossed

Hehehe, that would be slightly too obvious :)
Urs wrote:That said, one must not expect too much from Divas filters inside Zebra - while it's as cool and CPU munching as one would think, it just doesn't play an as important role here. It's a nice detail, no more no less. Doesn't make Diva irrelevant, nor Zebra itself.
Hmmm, most mysterious Mr Heckmann. And why is it that no-one's ever seen you at the same time as the dashing Zebraman?

Ok, so aside from the Diva filters, the prestige must have something to do with the forthcoming Batman film (hence the date), so I'm throwing my hat in with the suggestions of a Nolan/HZ themed soundset from HS to accompany things...

Post

gonna have to go with the diva filters like everyone else, but maybe also the addition of multi-core support from diva. That seems sort of like a long shot though with the completely different architectures between the two

Perhaps its a reskinned Zebra that LOOKS like Batman and has Hans Zimmers customizations and presets included - a Bat Zebra!!!! Or, a Zebra Bat!!!!

A Bebra?

A Zebat?

As you would expect, we'll draw a winner of the thing from anyone posting here.

(in about 9 days)
Well, there will be face recognition in Zebra now, and if you are Hans Zimmer, you will get AM = Analog Modelling in Zebra. AM_Diva_LPF = Analog Modelling from Diva LowPassFilters and AM_Diva_HPF = Analog Modelling from Diva HighPassFilters.

I guess like others here there will either be a Hans Zimmer Signature Version of Zebra with exclusive Soundsets from Batman Rising, or at least a special signature Soundset.

It will all be in C++, so only developers can play the sounds.

Do I win a Diva now? ;-)

Yes you 'win' it by giving the waiting staff or cashier at your favorite eatery a piece of paper with the correct numbers on it...

We have a quite unusual scheme thought out... Zebra3 will sell "new" for 249$, but the upgrade from Z2 ($199) is 30$. Thus having Z2 gives one a discount and Zebra2 itself. As with Zebra 1.x we'll maintain compatibility of Z2 for as long as we possibly can. We're quite sure that Z1 will still run on Mountain Lion, although only 32 bit, hence we don't think that Z2 will die anytime soon even if it isn't on sale anymore.

At least, this is what we have planned by now. Things can of course change within the next few months...

Post

Diva LP and HP filter models I guess.

I'm guessing Clemens has finally had enough spare time to write a primitive Howie button on Zebra that generates beautiful sounds based on 4 simple sliders.

It's either that or a neurological connection to our brain to play zebra without the need of a keyboard.
