super basic question but basically I am looking for a nice colored eq. I use maybe 2 eqs tops and just want to have a nice colored one. so far I am looking at both of the stillwell eq's. They sound really nice but I was wondering what others there where out there.
the things that they have to be is 64bit native and in vst format so yea any help would be great :D

Check out the demos Ive put up for the satson sweetone EQ(kvrforum), and give the satson soneq a once over, its free. The stillwell ones are worth buying just to have for a collection too, but the best one for me has to be the ddmf 6144. If you have the money the softube trident EQ is probably the best one going, highly regarded by many as the best EQ emulation made. There is a lot of free vintage EQs about, the pulteqs and other emulations are all worth considering. I would advise you to try as many as you like and buy the ones that inspire you the most or give you the best sound. Also Check out overtone DSP demos, tbey have a vintage pulteq and EQ emulation with demos. They are also coded by someone who worked on some really good stuff for protools I think. Ive bought the AP500 bundle and compared them against the waves API ones, only difference is very subtle nuances in the sounds and a different user interface. If I had a choice I would buy the waves, but for £40 they do me proud.

thanks ill check it out. I was thinking of sonimus to but the whole no demo no refund policy kind of makes it a huge risk if its not what I wanted. overtone DSP compressor I tried out and thought it was pretty okay just not for me but I will give there eq a try and the ddmf one to. thanks for the advice so far the stillwell ones where the only ones I tried and I liked em but always want to check out everything and decide before I buy anything :D

wow the really nice sweetone examples I might have to pick it up to just to have a nice tilt eq to :)

I personally like a good Pulteq emulation for adding subby thump or crispy air.

I am about to demo both the overtone DSP eq's right now any good pulteq's you can recommend im taking everything into consideration I have a good clean eq and a great liner phase eq so adding a nice colored one would be nice

Have you demoed UHBIK-Q? It's often overshadowed by the other members of UHBIK but I find has a pleasing coloration to sounds, especially bass.

satsons soneq is a good free pulteq while I also have pultroniq EQ which is a bit different but sounds incredible once you find how to use it properly. Overtone pulteq is another good one, smoother than the IK one on some frequencies. There is a leftover lasagne pulteq EQ as well thats free, but Ive forgot the name.

There are a lot of extremely good ones that are lot more expensive but you do get what you pay for though. Softube, Waves, to name a few..

I like the Waves V-EQ3 and V-EQ4.

Oh, and a +1 to bmrzycki's Uhbik Q suggestion.
