Crackbaby wrote:Alright, i think i found a real bug! :D

How to reproduce:
Open Grid. Rightclick all "things" to remove them all. Now save. Load what you saved.

For me there will now be parts of the default on the right that i had just removed.
Also, when i load "init" it's not initialized but having "things" there.
What shall i call the "things"?
Hi Crackbaby,

1/ Init presets are factory presets, and as such are protected (you can't erase them ). To modify them : You should use the "save as" function and give the preset another name. When you'"ll do this, the process you described will work ok ( I just tried what you did, saved the preset with "save as" and when I loaded it again, the masks ( the "things") were not present.

2/ The init presets : have already some masks, its to avoid you the burden to draw 16 masks if you want to use this part of Oxium ( Le Masque or Grid panel )
If you dont however se them its no problem, it wont add to the cpu charge.

This said : You might already know that you can save/load Le Masque "patterns", and I think its a good idea that I make some templates, including a "blank mask" one, wich will be included in the factory library. This way with one click people will be able to have a fresh clean mask area with no mask included with a simple click. I might also add some simple schemes like quarter note triplets, 8th triplets, gated 8th, Grrove 1/2/3 etc.

Thnaks for testing it :)

By the way, im using the orange skin and my eyes have no problems at all with the colour.
I haven't noticed any bugs in 0.92

Edit: Something i've forgot to report. It might actually be a bug. In the modulation page where you can adjust tremo, autowah and vibrato, the outer circle (amount) does not respond to rightclick (to increase resolution). Same goes for LFO&Env page to the right where you adjust the lfo's.
Thanks a lot for the report. :tu:

This is fixed now and will be present in the next version.

Like I said almost bug free :) And working for all OS 32/64 bits, VST, AU etc etc

Yes once you get into it the possibilities are huge - I've made a ton of crazy patches using it already
Thanks !

Le Masque is a completely versatile tool : You can use it as a StepSequencer in some ways wich can make your average stepsequencer looks a bit dated.

Its not really a MSEG, because it doesnt have a "sustain" stage, but it can do many many different things than your MSEG cant do ( and in its next incarnations, it will also do even more amazing things ). Thus the difference doesn't stop there with MSEG ( Some MSEG can make things Le Masque cant do ) : Its also -in my very biased opinion- faster and intuitive to operate than MSEG, and have a more friendly visual feedback. As much as I love MSEGs, the way to operate them is very often clumsy and a complete headache (the best ones can be found in the FM8 -ime-): You have to distinguish between different kind of segments, for good reasons ( presustain, sustain, release ), operate in complicated relative/absolute ways, its difficult to insert or change a groove ) : In a word, I'd say MSEGs work in a quite 'rigid way'.

So Le Masque is different in approach than MSEGs, and it won't replace them, though in some cases similar things can also be done. But mainly I'd say its an unique and innovative modulator.

Can Oxium run from a USB stick?

Here's a long Oxium demo made by Aiyn Zahev : 100% Oxium ( except a Voice sample and the drums ).

Embrace by Ayin Zahev

Ayin is one of the Sound Designers who have worked hard on Oxium, and a lot of his presets will be included in the final Factory Library with the version 1.0 ( Due July 19/21th )

Thank you Laurent.

I had a lot of fun and I ended up really liking the Orange GUI. It's got a nice orange juice colour which suits the synth because the filter is very juicy indeed.

It was a pleasure to create sounds for it just because whatever idea I had usually translated very well and quite easily. I am glad to see good stereo polyphonic unison too.

There are about 20 instances of Oxium here and the drums are samples and the vocal is too.

Good Day

Using Oxium v0.92 in Reaper v4.22 x64, Win 7 x64.

Bug report: The pitchbend stick gui breaks up when moving it from left to right.

All other controls seem to work well now. 8)

In the grid:
Snap is affected by zoom level. If you have zoomed out and add a 1/16th mask it wont be 100% snapped unless you zoom in and click on it (where it will autoadjust).

The amount of masks seems to be limited to 16. Can this be increased?

Phaser at max Res can cause some nice pops! Took me a while to figure out what was causing it.

With a little extra carpenter/plumber tech, the various adjustable
lcd/laptop mounting devices might help position things where you can use them
in a variety of positions.
Cheers

Thanks for this report. I just fixed it (available within the final release)

Yes, this could be extended in the future (after the official 1.0 version).
We limited at 16, because at the beginning of the development, there wasn't any zoom. Getting more than 16 would have been then unusable.
With the zoom features, it is now easier to manage more masks.

Thanks too ! The plops happens at the note off (as far as we are talking about the same issue). I will work on this one (seems to be one of the last ones, finger crossed ! ).
EDIT : this one is fixed too.

Thanks to all for answering.

We have to take just a bit of time to listen to all the music and choose our candidate.

Btw : 2 comments from two of our sound designers ( here Ingo and Kelvin ) : Oxium seems now very close to the bug free status, but they mentioned that during all the beta test, the did not have a single CRASH on their systems, and that it was quite rare on beta test runs :)

Exactly. I could not remember to have participated in any other Beta test (which are quite a few now...) where i did not have a crash at least one time...
