Can't wait to try this especially if the CPU usage won't overwhelm my old PC.andy_cytomic wrote:This is the finest analog model I've done to date and the cpu usage is very respectable.

Ok, yeah even I am impressed by that last vid.
And not even really so much on just a dsp level, but on a human-technological-achievement level.
Amazing stuff. Magic.
I am glad your genius is being applied in an area that artists and creative humans can appreciate, and you arent building sonic weapons for the US government or sommat.

When can I BUY this fecking thing!??
I'll give you double the asking price just for a beta, and you can watermark my passport and tax file number into it

As a guide most of the 4 pole stereo filters are running at around 8% cpu of a single core on a 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Xeon running at 44.1 kHz. The more complex filter models take double that. Double that again if you want to run both a 4 pole high pass and 4 pole low pass at the same time, and then near on double that again if you want to oversample x2 to reduce aliasing. If you have an old PC perhaps this plugin isn't for you. You will also need an SSE2 enabled cpu.FrantzM wrote:Can't wait to try this especially if the CPU usage won't overwhelm my old PC.andy_cytomic wrote:This is the finest analog model I've done to date and the cpu usage is very respectable.

I've already designed the gui and made all the hard decisions with regards layout and functionality and modulation, what remains is for me to get the models all finalised against the analog circuits like I've just done with the ms20 rev2. I estimate in 4 weeks time I'll have finalised the Moog Prodigy, MS20 rev1, and the Juno 60/SH-101. Once that is done I'll announce an official release date, since the remaining work is all slog and no risk or research and developmentsqigls wrote:AAAAaaaagh

Once the final gui is done I'll sell the plugin in beta form (but it should be very solid) for the regular retail price for early adopters to jump on, and all beta stage customers will of course have all updates to the final version for free.

So keen!!!!!
I've just sold my UAD Moog, so I'm sweating nails waiting for The Drop.
I was demoing the SoundToys filters but pfff...
I might need a FEW drops!!

Will you add higher oversampling options for us 'oversampling fanatics' like meandy_cytomic wrote: le high pass and 4 pole low pass at the same time, and then near on double that again if you want to oversample x2 to reduce aliasing. Yes, there is linear phase oversampling that you can set between Off to x16 for realtime and Off to x64 for render. At x64 your audio is processed at 2.8 MHz. This is standard for all Cytomic products and already available in The Glue. I hope to get the cpu usage lower in time with optimisations.penguinfromdeep wrote:Will you add higher oversampling options for us 'oversampling fanatics' like meandy_cytomic wrote: le high pass and 4 pole low pass at the same time, and then near on double that again if you want to oversample x2 to reduce aliasing. Will you come back here every other day drooling over the drool? Without giving a release date for about a year or so?
Finally!

The Drool is destined for release this year, probably.
There is a discounted price for owners of The Gloop, and the official price will be released 2 weeks after the official beta announcement is finalised.
(The final official beta announcement will be scheduled for announcement after all beta tests are finalised and the GUI is officially scheduled for announcing.)

Guilty as charged! Sorry about all the delays in getting The Drop done. I really did announce The Drop too early but I wanted to reserve the name and let people know what I was up to. I never studied electrical engineering so I'm having to teach myself as I go along, and it takes quite a while before I can understand some circuits. If I had more brains perhaps could have released it earlier, but alas that isn't the case and I just have to bumble along and make do with what I have.
