This "putting off buying Zebra while I get Diva and Ace" thing has not worked well for me. Scales have been tipped.

Now I just gotta recover from the cost of my son's bowling tournament (a week in Indianapolis is not as cheap as one might think). Then onto Zebra!

(jeez, that sounded like an FB post and had nothing to add to the thread) :oops:

Back OT:
I've tired to read the whole thread while traveling, but if someone will humor me - am I reading correctly that Zebra HZ is a separate application/code branch from 2.5, and while it may form the base for Zebra 3, it will remain a separate app (i.e. when 3 is released it will not replace HZ, and will not contain the Hans Zimmer patches)?

So one would purchase Zebra 2.5, HZ for $99 (inc. the new patches), then a $30 upgrade for 3 is released?

I'm still remembering a point in the 80s deciding whether I could afford both the DX7 and a car in the same year! These are good times for synth geeks :party: :hyper:

I almost bought Razor a couple weeks ago, when it was on sale. It took much effort to control my impulse... :bang: :hihi: :help:

And yes, they are absolutely the best times ever! So far... :wheee:

Waiting for HZ's interview about the soundtrack; always entertaining!

And if you elect me for President, I promise a Zebra in every pot.

'Mind If I Cut In?' sounds great. strong sounds in 'Underground Army'. no Zimmer Hansl soundtrack without Bartok alike staccatos and pizzicatos ... surprisingly surprising there is always room for surprises though ... percussion in 'Despair' has a strange dimension, very nice ... and then again v 4711 of the usual suspects ticatacaticataca ... and no surprises this time ... nice growl in 'Imagine The Fire' ... 'Necessary Evil' is wonderfully melancholical ... Big finale, deep breath. one of the stronger Zimmer soundtracks. Inception remains my favourite.

just listening ...

We are off-topic.. however..

I don't see these kinds of large scale sales in other creative mediums.. not in photography.. 3d art.. 2d art.. etc - their software prices seem to remain rather high outside of the student pricing and end-of-year holiday sales time to some degree.

pretty good time (sonically and financially) to be a musician, producer, or audio hobbyist..

This is true (and not entirely OT) - imagine what another medium would charge for a similar product:

"AutoCad FLW with the Frank Lloyd Wright Home Foundation Pack - $99"
"Illustrator AW - Andy Warhol Design Pack - $99"
Nope...

Healthy competition and relatively level playing field for indy developers - it's always Christmas on KVR; Zebra HZ being another example :D

Can't wait to get my hands on Hans' sounds. Congrats on 11! :party:

Hey Ive seen no hint of an answer yet, and why not ask;

Is there any possibility of Zebralette getting the same mono Diva filter treatment at some point down the road?

I cant tell ya how fukking tits that would be....
I realize that with it officially being freeware it doesnt quite work the same way...
But is it even feasible, say in six months or a year?

Either way really... :wheee::wheee::wheee:

Hahaha, no chance ;)

Zebralette doesn't have a filter in the traditional sense at all... all it has is spectral filters on wavetable level...

Yep, thought that was pretty wishful. :D
(Fwiw, I think its down to a gui thing now. With Zebra vs. 'lette. For simple stuff, I grab 'lette. Used to be for utility/efficiency. Now, its more cuz of ergo/gui. Hmm!)
Anyway, cant wait.
