Traded the Washburn Dime 333 ML-style DimeBolt (Horrid body shape, Horrid Headstock, 24.37" scale, Bland humbuckers, The only things I liked about it were the finish and floyd) in for (surprise... )another old/pre-FMIC Jackson. Total no-brainer as it is another perfect one for Me/My style/Preference and Yep it has one of THOSE necks HSS, Non-Reverse headstock, Floyd double-locking trem, A dark blue glossy kind of finish on the body, It looks like it has never been played. Really Am happy to of came across it by chance.

Now all it needs is one of Uncle Seymour's Blackout EMTY model active humbuckers for pugging in the bridge position, The middle or maybe even both single-coils deacivated and fliiped upside down to cover in the holes & then simply tuning down really low with a set of heavy bastard strings gauge wise (.64 - .18) to make it spot on

On a seperate note/issue my laptop is giving Me the now familar Blue Sreen Of Death, So I am using one of the kid's netbooks which I can barely type with as my hands/fingers are just far too big for it. Bloody thing/sick of the headaches it is giving me

Meanwhile I must not hang out at enough cool places because I just found out about 2Tek because Warmoth now carries them. Seems like this might be a nice thing for the baritone, which would mean a new body as well...given the pace of my improvements on the baritone I can safely say this is in my sites but still a bit out of range.

Now all it needs is one of Uncle Seymour's Blackout EMTY model active humbuckers for pugging in the bridge position, The middle or maybe even both single-coils deacivated and fliiped upside down to cover in the holes & then simply tuning down really low with a set of heavy bastard strings gauge wise (.64 - .18) to make it spot on

Why not just drop in a Blackout Modular Preamp System? It seems like a simpler, less costly, and less bastardizingly way to get essentially the same thing.

first let me say that daion above went for 1500 dollars fast with the buy it now option. Same guitar as mine but I have the original knobs and that one didn't.

Got this last week





Absolutely beautiful guitar. Its that lovely to look at, that my girlfriend wasn't a bit annoyed at me buying it . But its not only nice to look at, its sooooo easy to play, the neck is very smooth & your hand just glides up & down it with ease & know problem with sticky sweaty hands thanks to the oiled finish. The fretboard is just the right radius, the 12" at the top is great for chording & the 16" flatness of the fretboard when you get up towards the 12th fret makes playing lead a breeze.

The guitars pretty small, but I think this compactness only adds to the playability. The only down side of its small size is you have to be a bit more precise on the fretboard, especially with the low & high E, because the necks so small they're a bit closer to the edge than I'm used to. The rolled edge on the fret fretboard & frets feels nice to play but also increases the chance of the E strings rolling of the edge if your not careful. After a week of playing on it, I think its actually made my playing a bit tighter & more precise.

A bit of a break from the norm for me because a usually go for black guitars but I'm really getting used to this vintage white wonder.

Just for the record, I wouldn't really consider myself a Van Halen fan. After getting the EVH 5150 III, I thought I'd check out some other EVH gear & I was on the look out for a more shred-able guitar. But not the usual Ibanez or LTD, jumbo frets, super thin neck type shred guitar most people seem to go for...something a bit different. The Wolfgang Special ticks all the boxes for me. I guess you could say I'm an EVH Gear fan

All for sale except swimming pool blue (from my cold, dead hands!) and probably keep one of the twins. Everything else must go.

Agreed! I love that color with the maple fretboard!

Is it as good as the Music Man versions? Those are excellent. Where's this guitar made?

hehehe, I love it. I'm not much of an EVH fan, either, but I adore the Dimarzio Norton, which is their EVH pickup, and that made me take notice of how much his tone stands out from the hyper detailed EMG shredders of the world.

It is because as great as the modular preamp system is, It is not voiced anything like the EMTY model Eric, The EMTY is kind of akin to an 85 of steroids giving Me more of what I really love about the EMG 85. Give a regular blackout a go against the EMTY blackout and the difference is huge to Me, Thanks for the reminder though, Appreciate it

John it was/is a great straight swap, Probably one of my best to date actually That deal You are thinking of via Warmoth seems great and has You written all over it (I mean that in the nicest possible manner). Price is really fair also considering I would say.
